Retired public school SLP. Be inclusive and imagine a better world. We don’t have to accept cruelty in leadership or policy…ever. Ohio U. (B.S.) and Ohio State (M.A.) grad from long ago. 🚫DM’s, finance or charity solicitation please.
How many Floridians agree with Byron Donalds' definition of "freedom"? Because I think he believes in book banning, history changes, increasing vouchers w/o oversight (his wife's Charter School), little to no gun, climate or environmental regulation. So freedom to be under-educated, sick or shot.
NYT focused on Angie Nixon's lack of money, but I'm focused on a bigger number...Republicans turned out almost 400,000 more voters for the Republican primary than Dems did. We need a lot of Independents to join us in the general for it to not look like a mountain. 🎁: www.nytimes.com/2026/08/19/u...
This seems like a reasonable demand to me but apparently it's a bridge too far for Hegseth. How dare anyone dictate to the military what it can or cannot do! I assume that means general taxpayers too.
WTF. Story from the TampaBay Times about FL Highway Patrol seeking to build multiple new "temporary" detention centers apple.news/Aio9vis35TOe...
The "bubble" I lived in before was a bubble where I never thought any of this was possible.
I don't think he has a clue what Communism is. He's the most Communist-like President I remember in my lifetime. He's all about gaining govt control of private businesses. Here's hoping people figure that out.
My values are so far removed from what this admin cares about, I’m literally speechless at times. No words.
I’m late to the party, but frankly, we should be grateful every day for them.
How many women and black service members continue to vote Republican? Are they all living in the same bubble as Mr. Driscoll apparently is? How is it possible that anyone has missed Trump's blatant racism and misogyny? www.nytimes.com/2026/03/27/u... (unlocked article)
First, create the emergency. Then use that to justify bypassing Congress. Then, get rich off of it. We soooo need legislation to address this abomination.
Kudos to TBTIMES for spotlighting this underreported aspect of immigration. Why has this man spent over 13 years to only be “halfway” through the legal process of obtaining “permanent status” which isn’t even citizenship? apple.news/A2JaM5G9vQHu...
Why does Trump insist on calling high profile appointees (that don't go through Sen confirmation), "Czars"? I just find the use of that Russian word icky to say the least. Why not call them "advisors" or something equally mundane?
So many ways to interpret her statement. I'm reasonably sure she didn't mean to imply Republicans (& her husband) are ignorant and fearful, but... just the possibility of it made me LOL. apple.news/A5YTAzWFfRBq...
More and more instances of blatant unlawful/sloppy activity by DHS. Thank goodness some judges are aware and acting on it. This was bound to happen under a quota system. Outrageous! *signatures of same name don't match *warrants signed after arrest apple.news/AJPpNNDh1RJ-...
This is also a scathing indictment of Marco Rubio's management of current aid monies (particularly the Gaza money I hadn't read about). One might almost think he doesn't have a clue what he's doing but I believe he's just another venal, malicious actor.
Republicans' "The Save Act" is not what the name implies. apple.news/AZuWZ1NT5RHe...
As we witness the narcissistic collapse/decline of Trump, I keep thinking about the change he has wrought in our entire society. This sign was brought to a recent protest in St. Pete, FL. What a degrading thing to have to view in public (and explain to a child who might see it). Our new reality...
(gift link) www.nytimes.com/2026/01/16/u... I find it reprehensible that this admin continues to insinuate that Ross had serious internal bleeding/injuries. This is absolutely not what would happen if that were the case.
Something to think about (sorry, I couldn't find a link in FB for sharing the original post, but this is from Stonekettle Station's FB page.)
