I only had a bit of time late tonight to mess with this, but I think I'll come back to it. I figured since you did mm1, I'd take a stab at mm2, and hey, we could nominate someone else to do 3? 🤷♂️
So, under the right circumstances, you're right that you *can* read them for free, but at least for me, I have missed the opportunity to see anything beyond 2 weeks ago (that I may have missed). Oh well.
Another stress test. My thought: could it handle a choir of 8 mega man x2 guitars in pitch-slidey harmony with vibrato? The answer: #UltimaChipTracker
Sometimes you just gotta write a standard rpg battle tune. (for A Single Fallen Feather by @feenicks.bsky.social ) #indiegamedev #chiptune #vgm
Btw you may notice there's only 8 columns on the grid screen, and yet with SNES, Genesis fm, and gb, there's 18 total voices. Similar to @dirtywave.bsky.social m8 tracker, I wanted to have the "channels" be used for any voice per step, meaning I can do wacky things like this.
Seems to be working great! (on mesen in retroarch on my android phone here)
Now for something different, but actually just returning to a project I took a break from: a tracker for #MiSTerFPGA that combines the interface/controls of lsdj with the multi-chip capabilities of furnace, currently with SNES, Genesis and GB. Note some glitches with repeated notes present here.
I mean, down with the empire, but... www.theodramatist.com/early-modern...
The action is loosely based off a fender rhodes, an ingeniously simple design, from the standpoint of number of parts needed (essentially 7 parts per note vs like 50 in a normal piano), but using hinges for the keys instead of metal pins (which would then also require felt bushings).
Some glamour shots to help make sense of how this thing even works.
So this project is nowhere near ready to be shown off publicly, but you my wonderful bsky followers get a bit of preview. I'll probably share more about this as it develops. As might be obvious, it's meant to be a smaller, possibly "portable" piano, inspired by acoustic guitar. Puitar? Guiano? 🤷♂️

Music for Decline's Drops in-game showcase pt1: Blasting Battlefield [Theme Air] This theme is quite popular among players, and I have to agree it might be my fave track for the game. It's also become my go-to pump-up jam when I need one. Can anyone catch the inspiration(s)? #indiegamedev #vgm #rock
