Description of video of daddyspencer on instagram: Male privilege? What male privilege? Trans men & some trans mascs (& even some butches) are fairly often told to shut up about our opinions, struggles, experiences because we now have male privilege & should just be happy with our lot.

There are so many problems with that argument. It's hard to know where to start.

Trans men do not magically gain male privilege upon transition. It's not like somebody just says "oh here's an extra $20,000 a year in salary, here's a bump up in your career, let's listen to everything that you have to say because you're a man." that's simply does not happen.

As I've said for years, you have to be born into the old boy network to take advantage of it. There are norms about how cis men interact with each other that, even after 31 years since I transitioned, I simply don't know about or am fluent in practicing.

Any male privilege I have is also conditioned on others not knowing I'm trans. By choosing to live a very out life, I know I limited my career trajectory & my current situation of trying to rebuild.

I absolutely acknowledge that I have yt privilege. I have privilege because of my education. I have privilege because I've lived to this age. I have privilege because I present the way I do. And I use those privileges to the best of my ability.

Trans men are not a monolith. Not everyone looks like me or has my background. We are Black & Brown; tall & short; thin & fat; able-bodied and disabled; immigrants; indigenous; amongst other intersectionalities. To assign male privilege to all of us is an insult & it's driven by presuming us all to be yt, typically male presenting, etc.. To silence us because of that presumption is injurious.

My partner and I have a million food intolerances (and we're also disabled & poor). A friend's dad asked wtf we even eat 😂 For example: lasagna with mushrooms, leftover rucola, leftover mushroom soup (with blended up tofu), topped w/ sunflower seeds, chips, & garden basil. It's fucking delicious!

LLMs unfortunately have really good marketting that makes us think LLMs are the same as say.. AI used in medicial research. That shit is *awesome*.

Generative AI/LLMs are unfortunately built on theft and are currently *heavily* being used to produce graphic content of real-life people, war propaganda, fascist propaganda, and incredibly involved with the US department of war.

Datacenters are all harmful, but since LLMs exist, we've seen water usage skyrocket as well as small towns being harmed by more and more datacenters popping up.

We've also seen AI trigger psychosis and cause *actual deaths* because it made up some info about psychology, toxic mushrooms, etc.

I *really* wish LLMs weren't so heinous cuz they look cool on the face of it, but ah, it's causing *real world harm*.
