Kudos to @plaidcymru.bsky.social - from zero to all four Plaid MPs supporting the EDM to disapply the EHRC guidance. Just pipped by the only other Welsh MP currently signing - Steve Witherden, Lab Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr.

Interesting thread. Burnham has always had a cabinet for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority that's overwhelmingly Labour - when people praise "Manchesterism" for having a shared vision, this definitely feels under reflected upon. Split Cabinets in CAs and a divided Parl is a different story.

Devastating. Excellent journalism. We talk about people falling through the cracks. These women were failed. By human error, poor policies and overstretched services which gave up. People let her go without pushing further. Again and again. Tracey didn't even have a celebrant.

In the aftermath of any death of a vulnerable adult, councils are obliged to hold internal inquiries, called Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs). The findings in Tracey's SAR were written by an independent social care consultant, a former nurse and council worker, named Betty Lynch. Lynch concluded that the council had, over the course of nine years, repeatedly failed to show proper "depth", "curiosity" or "rigour" in handling their case.

There was, at best, superficial care for Tracey's physical and mental wellbeing, and no understanding that Joan's domineering insistence that they were fine was not "a trigger for case closure" but "a trigger for mounting risk". "It is difficult to comprehend the level of suffering each of these women experienced," Lynch said, adding. "Human dialogue should have taken the place of bureaucratic procedures."

Outstanding analysis of the deterioriating political situation in the "small, overpopulated island kingdom of Britain" which "is mostly cold, staggeringly bland, produces no flavour of its own and is thus forced to import all of it from Africa and Asia."

All of this is unfolding during a historic cost-of-living crisis and fuel inflation due to the Middle East wars, so why does it seem as if British politicians cannot deliver for their public?
The cost-of-living crisis is not really about the conflict in the Near North, although the Starmer regime would understandably want the public to believe that since it distracts from the real issue – the Brexit blockade. The flavour shortage and the dental epidemic it has worsened, are at the root of higher prices.

Every time there is Mr Blobby discourse on here, I want people to know that the Magnus Protocol podcast has Mr Bonzo - same murderous demeanour as Mr Blobby, different colour scheme. The American listeners were, indeed, very confused that this wasn't totally unfamiliar to Brits.

Mr. Bonzo has a bulbous body that is a dark yellow colour with red splotches. He has a clown-like face with large features and is generally depicted with a wide grin. He wears a purple hat and a pink tie.

Reform has previously been compared to Italy's Five Star Movement, a pioneer of digital, anti-establishment populism, but Farage has recently pointed to an unlikely source of campaign inspiration: the Liberal Democrats.

“They’re really, really good at picking an area and saying ‘right, this is good for us,’ and then they’re very ruthless about their data, how they manage it, how they protect it,” Farage said. “It’s the Paddy Ashdown school of thought. When you win significant local representation, you build upon that and then target areas for the general election.”
