I think supporting supervised consumption sites is in line with the Government of Canada's statement made two weeks ago to the UN Human Rights Commission. We need them to live up to these words.

Canadian representatives provided the following response:

Some examples include amendments to national drug control legislation that require police and prosecutors to consider diverting people found in possession of drugs towards health and social services where there is no risk to public safety ( ...) and the good samaritan drug overdose case that provide some legal protection related to drug possession for people who seek emergency help during an overdose.

I heard mention of harm reduction and Canada agrees that Harm Reduction is a core component of a comprehensive public health approach. Some of the harm reduction services that Canada is supporting include naloxone training and distribution, supervised consumption services, drug equipment distribution and drug checking."

It seems that we disagree that this knowledge includes that they could hit schools, hospitals, mosques, pharmaceutical factories, fishing boats, apartment buildings community centers & refugee camps.
