Omg I took this pic over a decade and a half ago, and I didn't know who it was for. Now I know.
The kids like their nanny better than their distant parents, but their dad does belatedly have a values shift.
My good people, I present: The great tragedienne, Sarah Bernhardt, incarnate as TrifleCat! She has been fed, AND given treats. Her craft, perfection. Wasting no motion drawing attention to her own beauty, she directs our gaze to the plate licked immaculately clean, weeping in clarion tones of woe.
I made a brioche crochet SWATCH! It took a youtube video, and hours of pausing and backing up and unraveling little bits and doing them again, but I think I have a better understanding of the pattern language for this sort of crochet now, and maybe I can try something more ambitious!
Bougainvillea & lantana! Both thrive in my part of California. Lantana has a spicy-resinous scent to the foliage, makes it quite deer and pest resistant; if given room, can spread to a dense groundcover. Bougainvillea is a climbing vine that loves trellis-ish support. Dig this one in Berkeley!
I love that color that wanders between brown and purple. Feeling fig today, and sporting gift treasures.
MRIs complete, time to appreciate the decor and garden at Stanford's Emeryville clinic and radiology center.
2 MRIs, thoracic and lumbar, this evening. I shall take physic to quell anxiety, enter a massive magnet tunnel, and brave its tumult and clamorous bruit with perfect stillness. The contrivance shall divine the source of my spinal torment, so my wise chirurgeon may know where upon me to cut. Magic.
Yay! New dinner, a thai curry chicken soup, made of a leftover half rotisserie chicken and a bunch of stuff we had on hand.
I listened to hold music for 47 minutes, long enough to use my insta-pot to make the leftover half rotisserie chicken into the base of a chicken curry, but I won't exaggerate. It was not long enough to also hand debone the meat. I HAVE verified my spine MRIs scheduled for Friday are AUTHORIZED🎉🥳!
More beading funz. Between two busted necklaces and a lovely pendant off of a filthy cord plus some inherited beads and I was able to make me a long necklace, and a shorter one with a pair of matching earrings for my daughter. Shh. Don't tell her. Details in ALT texts.
Understood. I with my inferior phone camera am Team Squirrel 4 ever.
I'm tired and sore after a grueling day of (checks notes) sitting upright in a chair. I have a dress I want to wear on Sunday, and I realized the 2 unfinished strands of crisocola beads I bought years ago in a mineral store would complement it, and well, that became my day! deets in ALT txt
Ah. It's time for the Squirrel seating at the Frog Fountain Buffet.
Squee! Here, bonus fence lizard to keep that happy feeling about swell little guys going!
HUZZAH! In gratitude, I send a photo of an okapi from the sacramento zoo that I visited last week, so you can see something unusual too
