The earlier discworld books (pre 2000) where scanned to be digitised then printed. Scanning errors where common as a result. Common ones where the letter d being turned into cl. f becoming l was common too. (Pics from reddit included for ref: Squirmed becoming Sqirmecl and after becoming alter.)
