It's like Alfalfa in "It's A Wonderful Life". The first time I saw it, I was like "Hey, wait a minute!".
This page here is particularly unsettling as Serafin is forced to continually press a button with his foot to save Vykin from meeting his demise on the Rollercoaster. "Just don't get tired", Desaad sneers to him.
Forever People #4 might very well be the darkest in the entire series. The premise of this one being Happy Land, a torture chamber disguised as an amusement park (run by Darkseid's sadistic right hand man, Desaad), used to suss out humans on earth who might have the anti-life equation.
Out of all of Kirby's Fourth World titles, The Forever People might be the darkest one in the series, despite the bright colors it's draped in.

Whenever I'm confused at work by something. This occurrence happens almost daily.
It's always a fun trip revisiting The Fourth World. This collection doesn't quite have the stories in the order I'm used to reading them in, which is fine as the overall narrative makes a bit more sense. The best part, however, is that in the middle of the book, there's a big ol' Jimmy Olsen block.
Re-visiting these stories are always (and quite literally here) such a blast.
