Hit the Paxton House antique fair again, a few days ago. Somebody needs to put a restraining order on me to keep me away from the wonderful Rowan Cottage Antiques stand! Hard paste this time, and it's isn't a pastille burner, despite the chimney.

Out with Rag Bag morris yesterday evening (playing, not dancing). I forgot how hot it can get under a black bowler hat! They're in my village on Sunday afternoon for the arts festival, so I will probably join them: their main (loud) musician's away and they need a more volume in the band.

Yes I know it probably refers to one of the earlier ones, as nothi g is official until sfter a vote, but I still found it amusing.

Larry said, "I'm getting another one today. It's another rescue. I take them in fora few months until I can find them a permanent home.
I hope this one will be OK cos the last one was a nightmare".

The foot recovered and is still okay. Only did the one dance so it got rested, and I did get s bit of drumming in at the end

A slightly confusing photo, as I look like I have 3 arms - goes to prove there were other dancers!
I'm wearing a multicoloured skirt, made from recycled saris, and hitched up at the front. There's a silver belt around ehat passes for my waist. Hair is in bunches, and I have a touch of "dolly" makeup on.

More of the same but a better photo. I'm standing as "chorus lead" and waiting to go out to dance. I think the silver belt was going for a wander upwards a bit!

A selection of the roses currently flowering in my back garden. I didn't pick from them all, and a few haven't got going yet. There are several more in the front flowered, but they aren't easy to get at.

The roses are of various types: single, double, cupped, striped - all sorts, including a briar type. The colours range from deep red, mauve, white, yellow, peach, pink, and striped red and white.

A bit of my small garden, looking from the shay bench next to the outbuilding. There's a Terrace Pearl dwarf pear tree to the left, and a large briar-type rose arching in from the top right. The bees love it, snd it's just beginning to flower.

Looking out from the shady bench: already of blue sky over my scruffy greenhouse, some bean canes, and a rose ("Jane Austen", I think) in an old cement chimney pot. It gets massive!

Looking left out of my pergola: black cow parsley in full bloom,and the Red Devil apple tree to the right hand side. There's a lot of green on view, as much of the planting hasn't started to flower yet.

Looking straight out and towards the house. The greenhouse and bean canes can be made out - and my washing line! 😂
The little stove to the left is made from an old gas bottle.

Another Staffordshire dog has joined the 2 on the mantlepiece. The new one is from the Dudson factory, and I suspect, from modelling details, that the others may also be. All c.1830/40. I'm not safe to be let loose! (Also got 6 fancy Moroccan tea glasses).

So I did haul myself out of my bed and see the sun up on Lindisfarne Causeway. Sadly the morris weren't there this year - probably short of dancers. Currently up at Duddo stones, enjoying the sun and watching the frosty bits melt, while listening to the skylarks.

Some of Friday evening's antics at Tribal Goddess, in Durham School...

Hair in a high ponytail, pvc leggings (very fetching- not), and black tee with "Rock Chick" in crystals, a fringed waistcoat, and a stupid grin on my face.

This was the first performance of the evening with the big group -to a live recording of "Rhiannon".
It's not that obvious, but I'm not all in black: my top is a kind of deep teal satin, although I am in a black skirt, and underbust corset...
For those who might know, I was mid-Aswaat fade (with 2 others).
Behind me are other dancers forming the chorus, to which we returned later.

Ostara blessings to you all from my little awakening walled garden

My awakening but scruffy (aka nature friendly) garden in Spring sunshine.
In the foreground is a dwarf pear tree with bulging flower buds.
There's a fairly truncated hazel tree further back, which was a much regretted but necessary step, as it was rampantly overshadowing a lot of my small garden. I will be reducing the height of a couple of other nearby trees later in the year to allow more early morning light and air in.
