Hands got a break, kids got fed and bathed, returned to the attempt and popped it!!! Still don't really have the feel, but my tools work, and now I'm ready for repetition. Woohoo!!
Alright, getting good response from the levers with this tool. I had been trying to make piano wire work a couple months ago, but the round wire and loose tolerances of the Squire led to the wire slipping between levers constantly. Found this square extruded wire, which is doing way better.
First one down! Perhaps completely unsurprisingly, the nice pro tool just works! Was having a very hard time differentiating the levers, so I did pull it open to see how things were sitting, popped quick after that. Going to do it about 100 more times tonight, but now to start making my own pick!

Happy birthday ♡ My wife's cousin reached out last night, completely out of the blue, about a project that would blend our disciplines and I am bursting with joy about it.
My oldest kiddo wants to learn to skateboard, so I'm gonna go on that journey with her. Stoked to get my board today and even happier to have @mxmorgan.com's incredible art between the trucks.
Me as well, but it really resonated with me for some reason. I read it in one sitting which was rare for me. I still think about Santiago waking the boy by gently holding his foot. That image stuck with me for 30+ years to the point that I included it in a passage of a book I was writing:

I JUST GOT INTO THE PHONE Bawling at the pictures he took in the last months of his life. I've only had one really good cry since he passed. Feels really nice, honestly. This one of my mother and her cat is particularly nice.

It was such a dope wedding, and Jesse was a huge part of it. I don't have all our pictures handy (I have some good ones of Jesse DJing!) but I always keep this one of my wife and me in 2 of 100+ masks my mother made. When "Animal" by miike snow came on everyone grabbed their masks and went nuts.

Lot of people calling out Rep. Omar being ready to hit her attacker, (good!) but I was moved by a softer moment. Unsure what was being said, but as this member of her security team was intensely checking her over, there was a point where she touched his face gently as though to reassure/calm him.
God damn it. Didn't realize this was a thing. Same vibe, a pile of gross ai narrative speculation about my approach to live punctuated by enough actual facts about my life to feel like the speculation in between might be true. Really unsettling.
