Coastal dweller switches to rural idyll. Derelict cottage with garden along nettly prickly lane. Tiny dog. Elder (now deceased but not yet gone ) Sorting Stuff. Literature. Arts. iPad rubbish. Now what ?
A different view of Tiny Ted. And of life. Trying to read and release back the sofa method.
Tiny Ted has been for Grooming. I explained that I was worried about her fragility and baldness under the fluff. The lovely groomer suggested a dry trim for less than half the cost and much less time for TT and much less trauma for her and her skin. When I arrived back they were still working ..
Lying reading and hear a sort of landslide rubble noise - loud- coming from the cupboard next to the bed. I am afraid to investigate. Either the roof is caving in or there is a large beastie there. The cupboard extends across to the right into what was a fireplace, boarded up in my renovations.
23 degrees inside but it is lovely in a vest top and loose clothing. Tiny Ted says no to the cool mat and is feeling the heat a bit - her ears look a bit disheveled… I can hardly believe the heat outside when I step out. I’m glad of the coolish but only last week needed extra layers.
Sampling Montezuma’s dark chocolate this morning. 100/100 instead of my usual 72 % Waitrose and no nasties , allegedly.
The joys of a lie in and a choice of cool surfaces. Tiny Ted in happy mode. It’s a no hassles day again. For her. It’s blood donors for me. Last time was quite a wrestle. <drinks water>
Five years ago. Remembering. This was my garden. The pheasants now lounge in the hosta overnight.
Heated blanket alert. Coffee blanket TT and I forget I had leftover almond cake :)
The dreaded lurgy is catching up with me faster than I can keep up. Listening to Moon Tiger all night while dozing. Frequent rewinding and realising TT was wide awake and staring at me. My guts were churning and gurgling audibly. Her eyes travelled from my mid section to my eyes in some alarm.
Tiny Ted has an air of resignation about her. She has drawn in her paws though. She is doing the final ten minutes of “relaxation” before the shift starts. She prefers the solace of a sitting room to herself but would rather the Bebe had the sitting room and she and I went home.
The start of the water cooler meet-up. A semi riot ensued with every sheep and lamb appearing at a fast trot. Whatever the news was, it was worth hearing.
Argh. I hear rain. I really didn’t want that for today. Tiny Ted isn’t bothered as she’s planning a quiet day recovering her sense of self. No tiny demons in the next room commandeering Everything.
The squirrels continue to flash about the lane in front of me after Walk Man walked on. Later on my way back I was behind a man similarly filming. I waited till he was done not wanting to appear in his wildlife feature and also being of a more nervous disposition.
A five squirrel walk featuring a man walking through my filming. Oh well. He highlighted them though via rattling them seeming oblivious or maybe isn’t as fascinated by daft wild creatures as daft moi.
Can’t believe it’s so chilly again I’m having to create a snuggly nest for Tiny Ted again at bed time.
The other lovely thing was just after I sat down and Tony Ted was foraging about , a bird arrived at the bird bath and enjoyed a good old splash.
Me and Tiny Ted were both unwell this morning. So it was nice to see the new rose had opened more and lightened a bit and now looks as it should.
But why the pre rain - something in the atmosphere , barometric pressure I guess. Our bodies are such sensitive and highly tuned instruments :) so long as it doesn’t stop us serving our real bosses
I’m watching Accused. Sometimes insomnia has its upsides. Coffee and a square of dark chocolate. A hard stare from the pup
My roses have all come out to see what all the fuss is… last night the dark pink and yellow. And this morning at the front the pale pink climber has a bloom peeping into the kitchen. I’ve been advised to dog out these old roses but can’t bear to. I saved them when all else was lost. Alt won’t save.
