Wow. What a 5000m. What a come back by Ingebrigtsen. Picture courtesy of BBC Sport #Birmingham26
Just finished reading @groomb.bsky.social 's fascinating book 'Made in Manchester'. I really enjoyed it, as someone who lived and worked in Manchester for many years. Highly recommend it.
İf you feel the need for some cycling related reading with the end of the TDF , I would heartily recommend Guy Roger's book about Eddy Merckx. Some really interesting insights from his rivals and contemporaries. #merckism
I read and very much enjoyed 'Mickey 7' last year (after seeing the film). So I was delighted to come across 'After the fall' by @edashtonwriting.bsky.social which blends a similar mix of dystopian bleakness with dark humour. Very enjoyable, I'd recommend it highly.
İt's at this time of year that I like to re-read Tim Moore's hilarious 'French revolutions'. #tdf26
Just finished reading John Lewis-Stempel's charming book, 'La vie'. İt chronicles a year spent farming in rural France. It made me want to move to France immediately although I didn't want to become a farmer. Highly recommend.
Taking an interest in Switzerland's world cup campaign because of... you know who #safc
Just read The return of Moriarty by Jack Anderson. It's a new take on Holmes and Watson and casts Moriarty in a new light. Could the Professor be a misunderstood genius? Enjoyable and well written, looking forward to the next episode.
Listening to this great album and amazingly I seem to know the words to most of the songs even though I can't remember where I left my car keys 🙄
Just finished Alastair Moffat's fascinating book, 'The North Sea'. It's a book about how we've been shaped and influenced by the North Sea and how it continues to affect us. Recommended.
Very much enjoyed @danielgraywriter.bsky.social 's ramblings about our 'day of rest'. Entertaining and evocative.
Just finished reading the very entertaining 'Reading allowed' written by Chris Paling. The subtitle pretty accurately describes what the book is about. As someone who has worked in a variety of libraries for many years, it felt strange to read about someone describing my working day. #library
