Yay!!! I dug through my photos for you--this was taken in Eastern Oregon roughly a decade ago. First time I'd seen a skink in ages and I was just as excited.

Blue-tailed skink facing away from the camera, on faded avocado-green shag carpet. The skink has a black back flanked with yellow racing stripes from head to tail base. The tail is a shockingly vivid blue hue.

So annoyed. This is a valve box. It contains valves that control the water flow to an irrigation system. WHY IS IT FULL OF DIRT. Second pic is after I troweled out a bushel of dirt. Someone thought this was good protection from freezing. The electric wires and I *deeply* disagree.
