So. Mal bisserl gelesen. Bin noch nicht durch, vieles war/ist mir bekannt - aber auch einige Dinge dennoch gelernt. Sagen wir lapidar mal so: dieser verstrahlte Trupp ist mir jetzt noch unsympathischer.
Alright. Just combined this with some home grown, garlic stir fried Tong ho (Chrysanthemum greens) and noodles plus soy sauce. Pretty decent I would say, much better than any mentaiko you can buy here. If you like noodles with a lot of shredded nori in it: go for it. Similar fishy taste.

Like this. Worked out perfectly. I heard some people struggle with the resulting consistency after steaming, but this has never been a problem here. (guess me posting daikon cake is sort of a funny spleen/ongoing joke, noone asked me ever for a recipe...haha. but that's fine...)
Steaming done. This is now firm, even if it doesn't look like it. Now cooling down, cut into pieces, pan fry. Done. (added some hq dried shrimp, taiwanese shitake and some sausage to the dough, but of course this can be done vegan)
Thursday evening. Weekend starting for me. Listening to This Heat. And: preparing taiwanese turnip/radish cake. Breakfast for the next 4 days.
Phew. Disc Union sublabel Fuji is doing a really great job at the moment. We got an official reissue of JA Seazers second LP 国境巡礼歌 from 1973. That cover!
What a week. Finished an important step to a project. Got a new bicycle. Saw an incredible band. This food is my reward. And how well it blends with this wonderful music. Tomorrow is a day off. Deserve myself a small cup of Kaoliang here.
How i eat. Just did an outdoor night market cooking simulation. Sanbeiji - 三杯雞...but with mussels instead of chicken. Damn, that was tasty and cooking outdoor is so nice.
Actually, that was a n+1 - aka new bicycle - week. From the original auction. This time, the 1987 version, one year younger than my other ones. And it was cheap.
My plants and herbs are not growing really fast this year. One exception: my sanshō tree. Was feeling adventurous yesterday and tried a raw peppercorn. Uhhhh, that's nice. _ (it's a little bit like sichuan pepper)
And another one. Later some older guy, who is known to also work with Krautrock legend "Embryo" - joined them for a song as a singer. Loved it.
Actually, that was damn good. "Osiana" is the name of the band. And this was one of their first gigs. Front guy is a decent fellow, we talked afterwards about all that early 90s japan scene, psychedelic speed freaks and so on... And, yes - there was an audience (below a tarp for the protection).
Uh. Nice. Just found some Bottarga at an Italian supermarket. That's basically wūyú zǐ - but instead of being from Taiwan, this is from Sardegna. (also called Karasumi in Japan)

Ah, yes. The saddlebag is just there, because I also wanted to go shopping cheese and beer from Belgium. Loads of space for it!
