these hearts are my Love Series. For my wife. She picks me up when i'm feeling low. She holds my hand, even when we walk through the fire. She's my favorite person. My constant accomplice. My best friend. So if you want to buy it, I don't blame you, they're pretty. But I made them for her.

here comes the color! the legs have undergone an extreme exfoliation treatment with the scraper and some 80 grit sandpaper. the color is coming! it will only get richer and more marbled as we go through the finenesses of grit. #wip #sculpture #art #papiermache #naiveteismyforte #EastCoastKin

few more layers and another sanding done. now I'm adding the colors. This is acrylic painted tissue paper, I add it in between layers of newsprint to be revealed later during the final sanding. I can see the finish line now... hope it turns out! #fineart #sculpture #papiermache #naiveteismyforte

you ever use an aggressive rasp on papier mâché? I highly recommend it. Any woodworking tools work great for this type of papier mâché. This stage is getting the rough shape correct. damn I'm a slomo. #papiermache #sculpture #fineart #EastCoastKin #naiveteismyforte

#wip building up the contour I've realized a couple things: 1. this will not lay perfectly flat against a wall. 2. it doesn't have to. "so often we live our lives in chains, never knowing we have the key" #naiveteismyforte #EastCoastKin #OneTribe
we did the peel! (and a bit of a trim) it stayed relatively flat - enough I think i can work with it and refine it to be flat. I'm overall very happy with our progress so far! now just to refine and sand, add a few more layers with color, then final sand and polish. #art #naiveteismyforte
