Nothing makes me miss living in a walkable city more than living in an unwalkable city.
Since I couldn't get a beer advent calendar this year, three friends and I put together our own! Nights 1 (Most Feast of Goibniu) and 2 (Great Lakes Nosferatu) down!
Pregaming in your 40s: a late afternoon cappuccino to help stay awake. This dining in is gonna be craycray (or whatever the kids these days say).
Night 4 of just me, the toddler, and the dog, so tater tot pizza hot dish it is!
The one thing I will miss about living in Hampton Roads is some of the beer. There are some legit good breweries here that absolutely punch above their weight.
New brewery! Redbeard Brewing in beautiful Staunton, Virginia. This is a town I need to spend more time in. Good beer, and brewers are discussing the Nazgûl. It's my people, y'all.
Took the kid on a bike ride through Yorktown Battlefield. Quiet, calm roads, shared by people walking, biking, and driving. It'd be awesome if you didn't have to go to a park to safely bike in Hampton Roads.
We actually had dress capes until about 5 years ago! Was literally called the boat cloak.
I imagine that cooking or entertaining with an island this big is kind of like working on the giant map tables that the RAF used during the Battle of Britain, complete with a big stick to push around a plate of eggs.
Kiddo's first trip on Hampton Roads Transit, the Elizabeth River Ferry! Big fan! The crew was super nice and gave him an inside tour of the boat.
