Why are there so many rapists in politics? The answer is that political networking in the US—for future candidates, staffers, and donors—starts in frat houses. Here’s a recruitment slide from the University of Michigan about how many of our male political leaders chose to join literal boys’ clubs.
For anyone wondering how cold it is in Minneapolis, this is what the inside of my one not-double-paned window looks like at -14. And still, the vibes for today’s strike and protest are “bundle up.”
I dare folks to Google “Utah student murder.” Charlie Kirk is far from the first person to die in a state that allows guns on campus. Calling Utah “one of the safest places on the planet” is straightforwardly pro-violence propaganda.
I’ve been working with a team at the University of Michigan on a study about survivors’ experiences with reporting intimate materials that were created or shared without their consent. We’re looking for participants! Please share far and wide!

Today’s joyful hour was spent baking beautiful cookies with a recipe recommended by @neophytecatomn.bsky.social. In the moments of downtime, I sipped tea from one friend and knit a blanket with a pattern from another. It was a quiet day at home, but I felt surrounded by good community.
Anyway, this is the finished product. I’m pretty pleased with how much I could fix after a day of learning. It’s a lesson that I’ll be taking with me to a lot of places.

IT'S MY BOOK BIRTHDAY! On the Wrong Side: How Universities Protect Perpetrators and Betray Survivors was a labor of love. May it validate all the survivors who took the blame that belonged to a broken system. I am so excited to finally share these stories with the world!
