If you’re trying to save money on your bills, make sure you’re not spending unnecessarily by charging devices that are fully charged or powering devices that are on stand-by.

This year’s newsletter comes at a critical point for households across Northern Ireland. While there has been welcome movement on fuel poverty policy, including the launch of the Fuel Poverty Strategy, many households continue to face intense pressure from food, fuel and wider living costs.

Heat can be lost from your hot water tank quite quickly, meaning it has to use more energy to get back to the correct temperature. Insulating your hot water tank can prevent unnecessary heat loss.

Ventilation will allow moisture-filled air to escape and be replaced with fresh air. Make sure vents and airbricks are not covered or blocked, use extractor fans and open windows when possible.

Speaking at today's Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC) conference, NEA NI Director Pat Austin, reflected on the importance of community-led energy action in tackling fuel poverty across NI.

We were pleased to be at a @trusselluk.bsky.social NI conference today, where organisations working with people experiencing hunger and hardship came together to share evidence, lived experience, and practical solutions to tackle poverty in NI.

📆Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 June 2026 The course will also provide a non-technical explanation of how the technologies work, the factors to consider when installing these technologies, costings, potential carbon savings and their advantages and drawbacks.
