6821 Canal St. this morning, 8/17. Please recall—Initially Mayor Whitmire & council allies said investigating killing was federal matter. Public pressure forced him & them to retreat from that view. Let’s act in concert with others & also by individual capacity to advocate and act. #Houston
Orlando Sanchez is active member of far-right, white supremacist, authoritarian political party. He is silent about ICE killing Houstonians & vicious attacks on Muslims. Sanchez is Bo French, Steven Miller, Ken Paxton. He’s watched 10 years of Trump & still a Republican. He’s no moderate. #Houston
I appreciate access to good signs people make. In back left you see 1 of 4 HPD units watching 4 people on Dunlavy Bridge who don’t want to live in authoritarian nation, rather than red light runners & ICE Gestapo in Houston. This today, 8/14. HPD has unlimited $ to police rank & file Dems. #Houston

Some scenes from Week 496 of the John Cornyn Houston Office Protest. Each Tuesday, 11:30-1, 5300 Memorial Dr. The next action is when you organize it. The 1st Amendment is your permit. The only credential needed is your presence. Voting won’t be enough. The work ahead is ours. #Houston
The ending of this Houston program by an 86 year old Reagan-appointed federal judge was very bad. These programs remain essential. Beyond the financial injury here, is the mental injury & physical stress from the relentless assault on every aspect of the lives of Black Americans. #Houston
John Cornyn Houston Office Protest, Week 496, tomorrow, Tuesday, 8/11, 11:30-1, 5300 Memorial Dr. 4 weeks to Week 500. We must organize ourselves. Voting not enough for the trouble ahead. The next action is when you organize it & the 1st Amendment is your permit. Please join us. #Houston
700 today, 8/9, 7 AM at ICE facility in Blue Ash outside Cincinnati. This where Hatians in Springfield, Ohio told to go. Last weekhad 600. Crowd organized in good part by decentralized No Kings type-networks outside standard organizing channels. Not reliant on elected officials, unions, churches.
Vigil this evening, 8/7, for one month since ICE killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo at 6821 Canal St. in Houston. #Houston

Almost 600 today, 8/2, 7AM at ICE facility in Blue Ash outside my other home town of Cincinnati. This where Hatians in Springfield, Oh. told to go. Crowd organized in good part by decentralized No Kings type-networks outside standard organizing channels. Just the program. Again next Sun. #Cincinnati
HPD used 6 units for at least 2 hours, all idling & 1 blocking crosswalk near playground, to watch these 3 women standing in sun in 100 degree heat on Dunlavy Bridge holding banners opposing ICE. Picture shows 5 units, but was 6. Imagine if red light runners & street racers so policed. #Houston
For all that has happened with public involvement since Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was killed on July 7 & clear reports from the Chronicle & HPD itself that HPD calls ICE, Mayor Whitmire stlll said today, 7/29, at council that HPD is not working with ICE. What do you do with that? #Houston
John Cornyn Houston Office Protest, Week 494, tomorrow, Tue., 7/28, 11:30-1, 5300 Memorial Dr. 6 weeks to 500. We see impact of pressure in Houston since ICE killing. We are organizing selves. Voting not enough. Next action when you organize. Bring water as forecast near 100. Please join. #Houston

Voting not enough. Next action when you organize it. Bring water as forecast tomorrow is 100. Please join. #Houston
This is in good part due to public & press attention. They hadn’t done it yet despite Whitmire saying all the time he’s a big leader on navigating us through State of Texas matters. The city had never done the formal needed step to move forward on this. #Houston
So HPD specifically or Sheriff Gonzalez would have ask for the Rangers to be involved in the investigation is how I take this. Or some specific request from Sean Teare the Rangers don’t feel they have? #Houston
John Cornyn Houston Office Protest, Week 492, tomorrow, Tuesday, 7/14, 11:30-1, 5300 Memorial Dr. 8 weeks to Week 500. We’ve seen impact of public pressure in days since ICE killed Houstonian. Voting not enough. Next action is when you organize it. Please join us as we show up for ourselves. Houston
4 pictures from Houston protest/vigil this evening, 7/8, regarding ICE killing on Canal St. #Houston
These are some pictures today, 7/8, from the location of the ICE killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo here in Houston. #Houston
I will be at these 2 protests/vigils one right after the other at the same location this evening, 7/8, regarding the ICE killing of Mr. Araujo. I encourage all freedom-loving persons in Houston & Harris County to also attend. #Houston
I had this sign today at the Cornyn Protest. I’m holding off on ICE killing man in Houston today other than to say we are going to have to show up for ourselves when it comes to defeating Abbott, Trump & what they represent. They are unappeasable. The next action is when you organize it.
John Cornyn Houston Office Protest, Week 491, tomorrow, Tuesday, 7/7, 11:30-1, 5300 Memorial Dr. 9 weeks to Week 500. No bottom line to what white supremacist, authoritarian right will do. Voting not enough. Next action is when you organize it. Please join us as we show up for ourselves. #Houston
