The craziest thing you need to know about Mel Brooks is that in 1974, he released two of the funniest and most iconic films of all time. Even wilder (no relation to Gene, who's in both flicks), Mel Brooks began shooting Young Frankenstein less than two weeks after Blazing Saddles opened.

Heck, even Scooby got two DC animated films and had a Batman villain in a stand-alone film without Batman. It could be argued that Scooby-Doo is more of a DC character than a Hanna-Barbera character because he's associated more with the former than the latter today.

After today's announcements, it's kind of wild that Krypto has two more solo-titled animated series than Wonder Woman. Which is two.

It's a bit after midnight when I'm writing this. Happy 2nd birthday to MeTV Toons, a pretty remarkable network that has entertained my cartoon-loving self for half a year now. It's been almost six months to the day since I got the channel, and I feel the network's just getting started.

It's cool. The thing about Space Stars is that Hanna-Barbera used a lot of what they learned working on Superfriends on this series and made a cosmic series with a lot of comic-influenced aesthetics. In addition to Space Ghost and The Herculoids, there was Astro and the Space Mutts and Teen Force.

Remember how I said the other week that one thing DC does what Marvel doesn't is plug the actual comics that "inspire the story" that's on the big and small screens? Here's an example of that from a DC-centric e-mail I got from HBO Max highlighting Watchmen and other DC titles.

I recognize that third pose. Challenge of the Superfriends used that to showcase the Justice League of America. However, on the show, the image replaced Captain Marvel with Aquaman and Green Arrow with Robin. I am curious if this was the original image or an homage to the Superfriends shot.

There was a licensed sequel to How The Grinch Stole Christmas called How the Grinch Lost Christmas. It wasn't written nor drawn by Dr. Seuss, who died 32 years before the book came out. Feels ghoulish and even more of a cash grab from the Widow Seuss. seuss.fandom.com/wiki/Dr._Seu...!
