Nerdy Alto
@nerdyalto
Gen-X spinster, currently dogless in PDX. Nerderies include: cheese, cooking, sci-fi, fantasy, books, cello, chorus. Probably leftish? Definitely antifa. Was Princess Ardala on the bird app. She/her.
This is not my cat, but one I was Emotional Support Humaning for a during the Time of Booms a couple weeks ago. His name is Gonzo, & once demanded I cradle him like a baby for the duration of a whole movie. Bald patches due to recent health issues, resolved satisfactorily.
They are prominently displayed in my bathroom, above the toilet niche, as is right & proper.
Those boat tours attract weird snobs. Dad's an architect from Chicago & we did the boat tour a few years ago. We enjoyed the death glares from the puckered North Shore sweater-tied-around-the-shoulders set as I held this pose forever while my no swears LDS proudly took this pic.
@solomonrmissouri.com speaks the truth. I will never get rid of these boots because they’re leather & they were bought in 20 years ago in Ireland at a shop that had wide shaft boots for the sturdy legged miss.
This highly smoochable coyote looks like the model for this delightful print I got from artist Emma Geddie!
It’s bad enough that I don’t get a real sticker for voting but the “virtual” one is also basic af. Can we put some license plate illustrations in the Oregon shape (the salmon is my current fave)? Ask 3rd graders to submit designs? (But thank you OR for texting when my ballot is received & counted)
I am almost certain it was this one (although it may have been the recording he did a few years later with the London Phil). I had just announced I was going to learn the cello so he bought me this album to go along with his high end record player I got as a hand-me-down.
Please enjoy the late Ardala, Princess of the Draconian Empire, who we assume was a corgixGSD, but was likely a standard All-American Shelter Mutt.
what a coincidence, Trader Joe, for I too have a "...flavorful and supple pocket." NO I AM NOT SORRY.
Maybe if I had stopped thinking about Tunnock’s Tea Cakes, I too could have enjoyed the Huge Bewb imagery.
60 miles off the coast of San Diego. They really missed a chance to send the San Salvador to pick up the astronauts.
Sure on this shining night Of star-made shadows round Kindness must watch for me This side the ground.
While I have much respect for King Crab (all hail His chitinous appendages) I have already sworn fealty to the majestic and delicious King Salmon.
And finally a pic I had taken at the shop when I knew I had found The One.
Here’s a pic of the pretty back - the old cello was made of plywood, so having an instrument with honest to god actual flaming is a novelty for me.
Want to see some cello porn? I took this pic of my new cello (right) which is a 7/8 size instrument next to my 4/4, now property of the David Douglas School District music program.
A Wienermobile was parked outside my LA apt several years ago, for reasons that still remain mysterious. Maybe the driver had a date with a resident. Maybe it was a surveillance van. It was magical. Anyway here is a pic of me touching that wiener.
In my fancy illuminated tiara, singing at Morris Dancers at the Portland Winter Light Festival. Highly recommend this wholesome & tbh kinda weird activity.
Hey, it looks like I had your dog’s opposite number - behold, Princess Ardala of the Draconian Empire, aka a corgi in a GSD onesie!
Closing night for Revels was last night - on Solstice, as befits the production. While we wait for the filmed performance to finish editing & sound mixing, here is the least unflattering pic of me singing 12 measure solo.
Tragic hair day for my 2.5 verse solo debut, but I think i’ll still look cute from 20 ft away.
