Last night we were a bit tired after the walk into, and around Pickering. What better way to get the energy back up than a caffeine hit with the #boardgame Coffee Rush?! First time played with more than 2 and it was good to see 'too many orders' as intended. Aww, you got a couple more orders?
The weather was great today, so that lead to a lovely walk into Pickering (despite the kids complaining). Travel Qwirkle got to be used exactly as it was designed: thrown in a backpack, and then brought back out in a lovely traditional pub. Great #boardgame, great #beer, great setting.
Last night was the first night of our holiday in Pickering and we got to some gaming started straight away - my first game since 11 July! Ticket to Ride is one of the in-laws favourites, so it was a natural choice. Arguments started within the first placements 😂😂😂. Feisty! #boardgames
We had an especially fun side mission in Imperial Assault last night. The rebels were saving a senator from his penthouse apartment and it just felt captured really well! Riot troopers appeared for the first time - cool little guys. #boardgames
Saturday night's game needed a bit of entertainment before kick-off. I picked Knarr because it's gameplay suits my in-laws and it had a nice quick playtime. What I hadn't clocked until putting it on the table was the fact the theme fit perfectly to us facing off Norway! #boardgames
The kids had a really good school year, and their reports were lovely. As I was so happy with them, I said they could get themselves a treat. One wanted a camera that printed pics, another a Kylo Ren costume. As a result, I'm finding pics of a little Kylo skattered everywhere.
I thought I was being harsh by not reading the article, but it's actually worse than you could think
Abbs was out on Saturday night, which meant the boardgaming group came over foe the first time in a while! A great night with entertainment from Isle of Cats, Skyjo and Gachapon Trick. Skyjo is apparently the England team's game of choice whilst they're doing their best in America. #boardgames
In our defence, I think it's Heathrow's fault we kept crashing for letting so many bloody planes try and land at the same time! Another couple of fun Sky Team landings. The coffee was flowing as we made our descent. #boardgames
Scythe was fabulous. The Airship combo we got was fantastic and really brought them into the game well. A timeless game that feels as good today as it did the first time we unfolded it years ago. #boardgames
The good thing about France is the fact that everything feels like it's slightly different after each visit. It's like you notice subtle differences each time! What a beaut of a game and my first win of this in an age! #boardgames
The G.O.A.T came out last night. So much greatness to this game - I love what it makes you have to think through whilst playing it! #boardgames
I also let my two boys have a go with this game today and they really enjoyed it 😊. A fun intro into adventuring! Hope they had a good time, too.
I love it when a plan comes together.... Let's go! to Japan still amazes me at how it manages to pack so much hearty gameplay into something that can be done and dusted within 30 minutes. We added the Passport expansion this time, and I think this is a really nice little addition. #boardgames
Coffee Rush play 2 safely put it into my 'likes'. The stress of too many orders coming in vs the lovely feeling of filling a cup balances the mood nicely. It takes about 30 seconds to figure you're score as well, which is a welcome change after playing something like forest shuffle. #boardgames
My daughter has been pining for a kiddy version of La Fleur for a while now, so we got out La Petite Fleur. A lovely simple version of the game, with some great production. Ce jeu de société est très bon et joli. Ma fille a adoré. #boardgames
This weekend saw the completion of our Skyrim Campaign. Our adventuring of campaign 1 came to a close! So, parts of this game I really love. And I enjoy myself for about 90 minutes, but then I feel like it just drags out. I want to love it.... But struggle to. #boardgames
Bordeaux proved to be a great revitalization of Viticulture. The new board is pretty, new starting mechanics offered a more interesting intro and other additions like the expert actions were great. 👍👍 This was a very fun variation of an already solid game. #boardgames
Dinner with the In-laws ended with an impromptu game of Splendor! I'm just not sure we've had chance to do this before with the kids around - they must be getting a bit more self maintained! #boardgames
Our Holmfirth Festival of Folk trip made use of Travel Qwirkle this year! #boardgames
Knitting circle gets better with every play. It's fits so well as a spin off from calico - I'd never noticed but there is a game that can use both boxes! We'll definitely have to try this out. #boardgames
Haven't been down Waterdeep in some time.... Loads of scoundrels hanging about - terrible place. A great #boardgames selection from my friend I was more than happy to dust off. We decided to play the corruption exps. for the first time and it was a great addition. But, my lord loved corruption...
We're trying to get back into our Wednesday evening 2 player gaming now that my dining room is back. First up, play testing my neighbour's game based on momachs and events across time. Much better than last time. Then, a fab game of forest shuffle introducing him to the expansions. #boardgames
Mission 2 of our next imperial assault campaign. This was a great side quest - you could tell it came from a separate pack. A seemingly intimate supply of respawning prove droids just couldn't keep the rebels back. Better luck next time for my evil empire. #boardgames
Had a busy few weeks redecorating our dining room and moving the office into it. Just before I started, we set up a picnic table in my kitchen and had a great couple of games of Sky Team. We trained our interns with ease, then kept forgetting to check our kerosene on landing two! #boardgames
