Janey is having a little sulk because I wouldn't give her dinner an hour and a half early
You know what's better than cat warm on lap? *Two* cats warm on lap.
A very special cat warm on lap. I can still count on the fingers of one hand his many times Janey has sat on my lap, even fewer when she's been as chill as she is now
Cat things: A specially bought cat bed? No thank you. A fleecy blanket on a radiator hanger bed? No way A folded up wool blanket on the floor? Yes please! That's *your* blanket so I want it.
Janey is having one of her rare moments of sitting with me and Cassie, so sleep isn't happening until she's had enough
Not that Cassie has abandoned me today. She sat on my lap for what amounted to 4.5 discs of lord of the rings. And this is the look I got when she couldn't sit on my lap because I was eating dinner. This is what I mean when I say Cassie is a real cuddlebug
And we're done. 13.5 hours after we began, which may be a new record. And I should get up now, but Janey has been siting on my lap for almost an hour and we don't disturb a miraculous event
The weather is still rubbish, I have a quiet weekend with no major plans, and I didn't make it to any of the anniversary rereleases. Time for the annual LOTR marathon. I've got snacks laid in, I've dragged the duvet down to the sofa, and Cassie is making herself at home. Let's do this
This is a Cat Checkpoint. QRT with the most recent cat pic on your phone. Unsurprisingly, mine is Cassie asleep on my lap from last night, because these days well over 50% of the photos I have are of Cassie asleep on my lap. She's just too cute about it.
And just to underscore the difference a year makes, Janey jumped up to join me an Cassie almost at the stroke of midnight. Of course, because she is a cat, she did this at the exact point I was going to go to bed and now I cannot possibly move.
Happy Gotcha Day, Cassie and Janey. Can't believe it's been a year already. You've made my life immeasurably better, and I like to think I've done the same for you.
No cheating. Reskeet with the most recent picture of your pet. I swear, this is not a cheat, but my most recent photo is actually the incredibly rare "Cassie *and* Janey sitting on my lap"
Consider also the case of this poor creature, who was sitting on my lap when I moved my leg because it was going to sleep, and responded the only way she could to this calamity.
Not quite a full #DuvetKnowItsChristmas entry this year, as I have an entire (single) bed in a spare room mostly free of junk, but I think I gain points for yoga mat, random wig, and Dad having to scavange a bulb from his bedside lamp because mine didn't have one.
Getting all up in my feels about the fact that Cassie and Janey spent last Christmas in the cat shelter, and this is how they're spending tonight...
I've put the tree up, minus any actual decorations, to see what the cats make of it. Janey has thoroughly investigated it, we'll see if it survives the next few days
The rain happened a lot, but I was able to get the weed membrane down before I lost the light, so now I can put the whole... sewage thing behind me until it's time for reseeding in spring
Today is the one year anniversary of Cassie and Janey ending up at the shelter I adopted them from. Photos taken today vs one year ago. What a difference a year makes
But my little Janey bear, who hid behind the spare room bed for several days, who ran away any time I came close, who watched my every move with suspicion, has decided today that she most wants to be asleep on my lap, relaxed and content. She's actually hung around me more than Cass today.
Momentous day today. Janey finally got brave enough to join me and Cassie on the sofa. She's been watching us recently like she wanted to be closer, but wasn't quite sure how.
