A convincing digital facsimile based on the Eisner award-winning author, cartoonist and maker of beloved graphic novels such as Laika, Hugo Tate, various Doctor Whos and many other tall stories. Coming soon: My Beloved Other. He/him. Optimist. Not (c) free
Mate, they bros. Swedish Chef is a SIFF LAWD. It’s all about sibling rivalry.

Be well. Guess what I saw recently… the original a/w. It’s hanging in the Cartoon Museum in London RIGHT NOW.
An underrated classic - Cliff Martinez’ OST for Solaris (plus a cover versions album by the Brussels Philharmonic). Truly beautiful, contemplative, immersive music that transports you to however far your imagination will go. #currentlyplaying
The fat-spined one? Was always envious of that. Collected further stories than the 1973 one. One day, maybe… I know it’s been collected now in numerous deluxe editions, but I want the one Bowie had! Suspect it was this or the 1973 one.
A sequence from My Beloved Other, A Memoir of Love, Race and Optimism in a Time of Denial, coming Aug 11. Angela’s recollections of her childhood, and the “mascot” you see here, were a big part of 20th century British culture. Yes, really. #comics #graphicnovel #antiracism #memoir #booksky
Anthony Bourdain would’ve been 70 yesterday, 25 June 2026. Shortly before his death in 2018, I made these graphic recordings of him at a big business networking event at the Lincoln Center, NYC. He tore up the rulebook of corporate speaker etiquette. I hope I captured his energy and passion.
2/2 A couple of short essays from the 2002 soundtrack CD release of Stanley Myers and Richard Harvey’s music from The Martian Chronicles.
Scott, I thought you might get a kick out of this. (Maybe don’t read until you’ve finished watching the mini-series!) 1/2
Onyx is an AI version of you, as based upon all your previous BlueSky posts. No mention made of how any data is used. They just need your permission and complicity. Luddites weren’t scared of the machines. They were worried about how the men who owned the machines would use them.
RIP Brian Johnson, VFX artist. You may not have heard of him, but you certainly will have seen his work - his sense of imagery helped shape SF cinema from the 1970s onwards and he was far, far more influential than he’s ever given credit for. Godspeed, sir, and thank you.
We’ll be at Thought Bubble in November with the new book, My Beloved Other (out August 11), Laika, Pigs Might Fly, original prints and some surprises. Get your signed copies and sketches here! More news soon. Book your tickets now! #comics #thoughtbubble #graphicnovels #booksky
So whether we actually get “new Doctor Who” or not is a looooong game that fans of my age have played before. Hence:
I recall that, yeah. A different actor played (who we thought was) the CD in S1 of FAM, but he more closely resembled Korolev. Ifans is great, and they give him K’s silhouette - the signature leather coat and wide-brimmed hat. (Soz, yeah, I know too much about Soviet space stuff!)
Star City is really, really good. Those first two episodes are impressive TV. You know they got the idea from me, right? I’m not credited. 😉 Two of the “alternative endings” from the 2011/14 edition. #comics #graphicnovels
Watched Cinema Paradiso (1988) again. Still brilliant. Had to go and listen to Ennio Morricone’s score again afterwards. Imagery, emotions, music, still echoing, resonating.
Attention #JohnBarry fans - there is a rather beautiful new version of The Ipcress File available from Quartet Records - a complete recon/re-recording of the entire score, very different from the original #soundtrack LP (and complete)! #filmcomposer #music quartetrecords.com/product/the-...
