I do not live in Brooklyn. I am not writing a memoir. I did not attend high kindergarten. Founder, Sam Antonacci Fan Club/NYC Chapter.
I read this bowl differently than I did when I was a kid (mostly I was confused about what I saw as the mixing of eras), but I'd love your take.
Today is my 3 month White Sox anniversary, and like some who came before me, I did not expect to be here but I love it. I've hear more salty language from players and broadcast team media in 3 months (complimentary, mostly Ozzie) than in 25+ years of the Yankees!
I work in dog rescue and spend way too much time lobbying (unsuccessfully) to name dogs after players on this list. But it's a useful tab to have open when one of them gets called up and we need to know more. www.mlb.com/milb/news/be...
Rain delay rabbit hole! Sam Antonacci's 2023 Cape Cod summer league team, the Chatham Anglers, included Benge, Gibson, and Wetherholt. Chris Getz was an Angler 2003-2004.
Here's a picture of Sam as a kid to cheer you up. www.mlb.com/phillies/new...
I saw Winston-Salem's last Roch Cholowsky-free game vs. the Brooklyn Cyclones this afternoon. Trying not to be annoyed either the assignment or the schedule didn't work out. Cyclones won 6-5.
Newly minted White Sox fan here (broke up with the Yanks a few years ago). This team is more fun and likable than you can imagine - welcome aboard. I love Antonacci best, but pretty much everyone else is tied for #2. My Mets people mock me but I'm the one who is loving baseball this year.
@chrystalok.bsky.social Just making sure that you saw the Athletic has Sam Antonacci as #4 on their mid-season AL Rookie top 5 list. www.nytimes.com/athletic/743...
My NYC baseball people are snoozing on how much fun this team is, and it's their loss. To be fair, they are all either traumatized Mets fans or recently baseball-divorced from the Yankee fans who are lost at sea (me, before WBC). I proudly bandwagon, thank you for welcoming me on board.
Photo of Sam on the scoreboard but with Game of Thrones (?) eye patch and black shirt that makes him look like a cater waiter.
It's June in NYC so it's time to watch talented youngsters with big dreams roll into town and get their asses handed to them on their first night out. Scrap it out, boys. Tomorrow's another day.
@chrystalok.bsky.social The Sam Antonacci Fan Club-NYC (so far, just me, but I'm working on it) is ready to welcome him to Yankees Stadium next week.
Sometimes it's even more confusing - the trains themselves transition.
I have chalked for Louis (Loeb) Rosen since 2018, when a friend connected me with his great-great grandson. Sometimes the family joins me. It's one of my favorite NYC events.
My pre-ordered copy arrived today. Thank you for this gem of a book.
#Didthistoday Multitasking! Arizona GOTV textbanking and adopting this croissant. Meet Halloween Jack. He’s a real cool cat.
Also, this is Chicken Pie. She is not a dog. She is the ghost of John Belushi in Animal House wearing a dog costume. Here she is at her “specialized” daycare for dogs who are too bonkers to go to regular daycare.
