Exclusively posting here now about HK/China and global events/issues. Occasional nonsense.
The right love to portray migration as an "invasion" & it's usually nonsense. In this case however, it's hard to call it anything else - 49,000 people in 24 hours into a territory of 83,500 ppl / 18.5sq km. If the Spanish govt don't deal with this effectively, the right will destroy them over it.
The extreme ignorance of the entire US administration is hard to imagine, along with their obvious willingness to rely entirely on unchecked AI slop for policy making.
...such drills are generally permitted under UNCLOS, but China is one of the main states that claims that foreign military exercises and live-fire drills in an EEZ threaten their national security, violate "peaceful purposes" clauses, and require prior consent. Location, for reference:
1. again (Japan) Yet again, China accuses Japan of "re-militarization" and warns that it "has become a growing danger and threatens regional peace and stability". China's military spending - and the growth in that spending - dwarfs that of Japan. www.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202606/23/...
Didn't get as wet as I thought it would, but it's just gone BACK UP to Red Rain again, so looks like more incoming. Today has been Amber-Red-Black-Red-Amber-Red as a continuous sequence (plus another solo Amber in the morning). Wet.
1.30pm chart already hitting pink levels in some places, purple spreading
Black Rain signal raised, and these shades are gonna get darker in the next few hours, even tho a few spots are already in the purple!
One reason it's "invalid" is that only "some countries" signed it. See the list in the pic - almost every independent nation at that time signed it.
Update: scaffolding is more extensive and looks like a lot of stuff going on inside, but i can only find public notices about the next door building (demolition & scaffolding), so maybe it all relates to that?
11. again (Japan) Xi unironically complained to Trump about Japan's "remilitarization" despite, well... look at the chart I've attached. www.upi.com/Top_News/Wor...
Weak. Get back to me when it feels like 34 after midnight (and still using fan instead of air con to save on electricity costs).
Of course, after the trip he threw Taiwan under the bus by throwing doubt on US willingness to defend Taiwan. Now he plans a call that will hugely piss off China. This is the worst of both worlds - show China you may not be willing to stand up for Taiwan, then immediately provoke them.
This CGTN article/video, and this The Onion article have near identical content.
What was Vance doing during covid? His fake advocacy organization (a political front for him) closed having achieved nothing & a startup he was on the board of failed.
I remember tankies celebrating the expansion of BRICS as a sign that it was an increasingly powerful anti-western block. If it wasn't clear then, maybe it is now. Expanding it has lead to more diverse opinions/interests, & so inaction.
With only a couple of games left, the Spanish relegation battle is completely insane.
"That would be like walking along the autobahn! 😬" Yes. Yes it would.
