More Sustainability for #ShowMeYourKnits is unravelling these old fast fashion jumpers. These weren’t suitable for donating so they’re now yarn ready to be made into something else.

Two old jumpers to be unraveled, one grey chenille and silver glitter which was stained, the other fuzzy black and white with hp pattern that needed to be destroyed rather than risk it being worn be anyone else.

Sustainability for #ShowMeYourKnits, well this is crochet. But it is made from leftover yarn from my stash, other people’s stashes and the thrift store. Modular makes like this are great for stash busting 👍 🧶 #Crochet

Cropped crochet jumper with wide long sleeves, boat neck and scalloped hem. It is made of 10 granny squares sewn into 2 strips of 5 squares each, then sewn together with gaps at top and bottom for the head and body. It is mostly fluffy grey with flowers of bright colour at the centre of each square.

I totally failed at #TourDeFleece26 posting but I very much succeeded at tdf spinning! Not quite as impressive as Pogačar’s 5 lol 🧶 #HandSpinning

Over the past few days of #TourDeFleece26 I’ve been spinning this gorgeous BFL/Silk hand dyed braid. This blend is my favourite, the sheen, the softness, it spins like butter. Braid is from Pigment & Ply, one of my favourite UK yarn dyers. 🧶 #HandSpinning

Day one of #TourDeFleece26 ends with a good amount of ramie on the bobbin. There’s been some frustration but it’s definitely easier on the wheel than on a drop spindle. However it is a slow spin so we’ll see how much I do of this before I get tired of it!

Spun a little sample of ramie in preparation for #TourDeFleece. I’ve never spun a fibre like this before. Lessons learnt: • it is a PITA to spin on a drop spindle, hopefully it’ll be better on the wheel • a distaff might help keep the fibre lined up nicely (cont. 🧵)

#ShowMeYourKnits is Blue for Bluesky! I haven’t really made much with blue, as I often think why use blue when I could use purple or green instead? So here’s the Cirriform Socks with both blue and purple, much more acceptable. 🧶 #Knitting

I had to go into town to have an eye test so to reward myself I checked out the charity shops and picked up these vintage knitting patterns: a couple of classy 60s, two extremely 80s tops and a baby set so I can be a good aunt. 🧶 #Knitting

Today’s random #MeMadeMay item is the Edge of Twilight hat! This hat is sooooo warm. It’s a -5 or colder hat for sure, any warmer and it gives me headaches. It doesn’t get that cold here very often but when it does I’m ready! worn 28 times 🧶 #Knitting

Today’s random #MeMadeMay item is the Walpurgis Mitts! This was my first colourwork project. I made these back in 2022 and they still look good as new even though I’ve worn them a lot. Worn 253 times! 🧶 #Knitting

Today’s random #MeMadeMay item is the Sidetracked Socks! I like knitting an occasional pair of challenge socks and these were a challenge! They came out lovely though. Worn 35 times 🧶 #Knitting

Today’s random #MeMadeMay item is this windowpane v-cowl! This was the first v-cowl I wove, and I wear it all the time. It’s just the perfect accessory? If ever a dress is too boring, add a v-cowl, that’s my advice. Worn 121(!) times 🧶 #Weaving
