Managed to finish a few pages in my "greetings card" art journal before it became too warm to sit at my desk. Very pleased with the ways the overlapping papers are starting to work together.

Two pages made of overlapping papers. A book page has been covered in curved black lines, spaces between filled in with blue, yellow and green marker. A green circle overhangs one page, with spiral and petals drawn in black.

The same pages as in the previous picture. Six large petals cut from painted paper have been stuck across both pages, as if they're being blown away from the green flower.

The page has been turned, showing that the other side of the overhanging flower is red. The page it peeks around is covered in pink, red and blue flowers, drawn in watercolour pencil and outlined in black. The next two pages, one half covering the other, are painted in purple, green and blue, and decorated with dynamic black and white lines.

A little reminder from my desk to yours.

I have in my kitchen, through no fault of my own, a packet of Jilly Cooper themed crisps.

A packet of "steak Diane flavoured crisps" with a small reference to the TV show Rivals towards the bottom. The colour scheme and picture of cooked steak, mushrooms, and sauce, have a definite 80s cookbook vibe.

Doing a little art-journalling to offset the angst of the football.

Pssst... wanna see some leaf prints?

I made a chunky little notebook out of one of my painting practice pieces, and felt all satisfied and stuff afterwards.

A small open notebook with biro for scale. It is slightly shorter than the length of the pen but a double-page spread is slightly wider. Most pages are blank but one has paint marks made with brushes and a sponge, in purple, orange and pale blue.

I will no longer accept generic human outlines for scale. From now on all figures must be 1950s gardeners with flat caps, and they will be smoking a pipe, regardless of the gardening task they are currently undertaking.

Bought a couple of handbooks on pottery from a charity shop so I could get lots of lovely pictures for art / junk-journalling and LOOK at these HIDEOUS, SURPRISE CHERUBS.

I made some stupid collage thingies for my stupid mental health. If there is a thing you do that helps sensibly with The Agonies then definitely do not skip it at this time.

Set of three small pieces of envelopes showing the security patterns, each forming a fake frame around a collage. Each collage has one or more shapes cut from magazines, with additional embellishment in black, white and gold pen. The motifs included are simple flowers, leaves and fruits.

Attempted something a little less abstract today. Slowly getting the hang of water control and mixing the sort of shades I want.

Back home and immediately back on my bullshit.

Small, blotchy watercolour background of blue and purple stripes, with some faint silver and bronze stars. Over this I have drawn three large circles intersected by three crossing lines. Sections of the circles are filled with different patterns. Most drawing is done in black fineliner with a few accents in bronze marker pen.

Doodled a birb.
