Writer. Home: blank page, screen or stage. Chiefly here to discuss screenwriting, film + TV. Queen of typos. Partnered by my editor-in-chief, Tiggy (cat). Lover of cake, otters, owls, hares and wildlife/conservation.
Very sad news this morning. Bill Oddie has passed away. Not only did he have funny bones and an infectious laugh, he did so much to raise awareness about the plight of wildlife and conservation through a multitude of programmes, including Springwatch. He really was a proper Goodie in every sense.
Incredibly sad news concerning Kevin Keegan. Such a fantastic footballer. Always came across as a marvellous human being. You’ve left too soon. Always thrilling to watch on the pitch. You married great sportsmanship with being a proper gent. May you rest in peace now.
We’re having a sleepy snuggle. No questions will be taken at this important time. The fact we’ve been asleep all night is completely irrelevant. #Caturday #CatsonBlueSky
Tremendous loss. Sam Neill was the consummate actor; incredible versatility, he could play anything put in front of him. From Jurassic Park to A Cry in the Dark, from Event Horizon to The Piano, and from Hunt for the Wilderpeople to Peaky Blinders. Depth, sensitivity and humanity and a why smile.
That’s what our parents, grandparents and great grandparents fought so hard against. Fact it’s raised its ugly head again is disrespectful to all they’ve given for our freedoms we enjoy today. Also…
Incredibly sad to learn Bonnie Tyler has passed away. Grew up listening to her great power ballads. Her rasping, unique voice has accompanied me on many hours of writing. ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart,’ ‘Holding Out for a Hero’ and ‘It’s a Heartache,’ to name just three fabulous songs. Awesome woman.
Just woke up to check the latest forecast. Looks like they got it right and I’ll be watching a cracking footy match over breakfast. ⚽️ #WorldCup #MexEng #HarryKane
This furry alarm clock had me up bright and early this morning. An editor-in-chief needs his breakfast, right? And now… Yes. That’s my pillow. *sigh*
Yikes! That is hot. Many thanks for the tips. Like I suspect much of the UK we didn’t get much sleep last night. That didn’t stop him snuggling up to my leg.
Are you anti all vaccines? Just curious. Only you do know that various vaccines have saved many millions of people of getting either very sick or worse dying? What is pretty sick is you replying to someone who’s been through the trauma of cancer that vaccines are making it worse. Disgusting.
We’ll take no lectures from Trump’s WH on 2-tier policing in the UK, while under him Renee Good and Alex Pretti were shot dead by his ICE agents in Minneapolis. Heaven knows what’s horrors many other PoC who’ve been forcibly arrested have endured.
A tangle of ginger paws and legs to break up any doom and gloom on your TL. And one cute little sleepy face. 😍 Couldn’t resist. 🤫 😴 🐈 #CatsOfBlueSky #BlueSkyCats #cats

Lilac for Mum, who passed away 11 years ago today. Sharing this more in celebration of her than in sorrow. Everything that’s good about me is down to her. These photos are from last May as the lilac has already gone over. Love you and miss you forever, Mum. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
An early example of an “no entry” roadside sign.
Here’s one of the views we enjoyed that afternoon. Just relieved Debbie didn’t get blown out to sea.
AI is inevitable, little lady. You’re going to want to use it because everyone around will have to use it. That’s just writing and creativity works now. Take it from us. We’re tech bros and we know what’s best for you. Screw AI.
Happy 100th birthday to our wonderful national treasure, Sir David Attenborough. He’s been instrumental in teaching the world the importance of conservation, our vital ecosystems and biodiversity. He’s shed light on how stunning our planet is and why it’s imperative we look after it.
If you see this, quote with a picture of you in glasses.
Happy to report that the editor-in-chief is making a good recovery. Not quite back to his old self but he’s now able to get up on his pouffe, the sofa, the bed and even the windowsill, albeit a little gingerly. His appetite is almost back to normal. Here he is on pet bed in another room.
Love this time of year. The pear and plumb are in full bloom while the apple trees are nicely budding up. All that beauty and promise of (hopefully) a bountiful harvest of fruit later in the year. Let’s see. #spring #gardening #blossom #fruits
You know all this discussion about the issues they’ve had with the toilet on #ArtemisII I’m frankly amazed they didn’t call on this guy for his expertise. 😉 #IYKYK #TheBigBangTheory
Pretty late for #Caturday but woke up last night only to discover my editor-in-chief cuddling my foot. At one point he used it as a head pillow. That’s my boy for you. 🐈
Contrast between what those four incredible astronauts on board #ArtemisII are doing to further our understanding of space and the moon couldn’t be more stark in comparison to Trump and Putin et al. They’ve just discussed importance of one people on Earth and togetherness. Others are warmongers.
Once Artemis II has lifted off highly recommend watching ‘Hidden Figures.’ A fabulous movie, which is a stark reminder that without the incredible Dorothy Vaughan, Katherine G Johnson and Mary Jackson - three African American women, mankind wouldn’t have made it into space or landed on the moon.
From Sky News: news.sky.com/story/iran-l... He’s either delusional, a liar or both.
Come on! Otters are incredible. Synonymous with British wildlife.
I’m not big on having my photo taken - never have been really, but here’s me and Mum from a while ago. She was one very special lady in my life. In many ways she still is.
