NEWS - North East Museums has acquired a rare Union Flag ensuring it remains in the UK, with the support of several generous funders. The flag was flown from the HMS Royal Sovereign, flagship of Newcastle-born Vice-Admiral Cuthbert Collingwood at the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805.

NEWS - We're excited that Neville Hall will be joining North East Museums later this year. This beautiful Victorian landmark building on Westgate Road is home to one of the world's most important mining engineering archives, documenting the North East's role in shaping the Industrial Age.
We want to say a massive thank you to our in-kind supporters, LED Supply & Fit and Swyft who have helped us refurbish Discovery Museum and Woodhorn Museum’s cafes. With new lighting from LED Supply & Fit and new, comfortable seating from Swyft, our cafes have had an upgrade.
We’re very happy to continue our partnership with Lumo Trains through their support of Discovery Museum’s latest exhibition, ‘Things That Go’. The new playful transport exhibition for young children opens this July.
