I am honored to have retired State Treasurer Mike Fitzgerald's endorsement. It is not something he gives lightly. For 40 years, Mike committed his life to public service, earning the respect of ALL Iowans. He set the standard for what a State Treasurer should be. I intend to follow in his footsteps.

This is interesting: The CEO of Iowa's Public Employee Retirement System (IPERS) and his 2nd in command have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation for misconduct. Current GOP State Treasurer, Roby Smith, who has a seat on the IPERS board, has remained silent. For 2 days.
I will fiercely defend Iowa's Employees Retirement System (IPERS), a self funded program. Employees make contributions to it. The plan is funded with investment earnings. 1 in 8 Iowans are members of IPERS. This includes fire, police, public school teachers, and many others.
