My son was in a band when he was in high school. I too would load up the car and transport equipment to and from gigs. They actually had five songs recorded. Fast forward 15 years. The guitarist is now in a band that tours the world. My son? He’s a history teacher. Proud Father.

Movements at Chain Reaction in Anaheim. Chain has been a venue for many bands in the hardcore scene for 30 years. A small venue with a capacity of maybe 240. My son was in a band that played there in 2007. The guitarist went on to play with Movements. The last band to perform on that stage.

In 2008/09 my son was in a band that played Chain twice. (long hair dude in pic) One of his band mates from Catalina Burning went on to play gigs around the world and has released multiple albums with Movements. The last band to perform.

Chain is closing its doors in a week. This venue has been around for nearly 30 years. This small venue, holds 250, has had some big name bands play its stage. Local kids got their first experience playing on an actual stage. Over the last decade we have lost Irvine, FivePoint, and now Chain.

I saw The Used last night. They performed In Love And Death in full. Have seen them before several times - last night was awesome. I love seeing supporting acts. You never know if you will hear a new band that kicks ass. The Dark.FM opened the show. I found a new band to follow.

When I was stationed in England in the late 70’s some friends had let rooms in a wing of a manor house. These two guys spent all their money on stereo equipment. Stacks of speakers, high end gear. We would listen to this album at like 11. (Spinal Tap ref for those who didn’t get 11)

The population of LA / LAC is enormous as is the land area that it covers. Add in Ventura to the north, Orange to the south, and Riverside / San Berdo to the east - he doesn’t have enough resources to fulfill his wet dreams. Dear Wannabe King - fuck off.
