Among 247/75 last night, Dusky Sallow was a landmark 400th moth for the Axminster garden, having begun the year on 31. Pine Hawk-moth 399 and Maple Pug 401, so quality all the way. 😎 #TeamMoth

Visiting friends in Suffolk, so took the battery trap for a trial run at Cavenham Heath for a couple of hours last night. Absolutely inundated with small flying creatures! Big highlight for me was a stunning Marbled Clover. 😎

Whatever else the actinic pulls in, this is still likely to be the rarest creature in tonight's catch. If I've got the ID right, it's a nationally-rare Interrupted Long-horned Caddisfly. Breezy, but mild and overcast brought the numbers up again. A fresh Barred Yellow was prettiest moth of last night's 6 NFG amongst 90/36. Migrants represented by single Small Mottled Willow and Silver Y. Dark Arches mob-handed now, with 17 blundering around. 😁 Axminster VC3 #TeamMoth

Best trap for almost a week. A tired Lilac Beauty was pick of 29/21 this morning. But nice to see 3 migrants too: Bordered Straw, Silver Y and Diamond-back. Wonder if there are any Eastern Bordered Straw still kicking about... I hope so. Axminster VC3 #TeamMoth
