i think agents of the four seasons is starting to tick me off just a little

-if you’ve written characters so deeply affectionate that they’re saying “I love you” over and over while hugging each other tight and looking into each other’s eyes and the only way you can think to communicate to the audience that this isn’t a romance is to have one of them narrate “this isn’t a romance”… buddy you’ve written a romance and you’re in denial
-show don’t tell; so much time is spent showing how deeply affectionate sakura and hinagiku are for each other, meanwhile we’re on ep 6 and we’ve never seen winter and spring so much as EXCHANGE A SINGLE LINE OF DIALOGUE and you expect us to believe they’re in love? bro sakura is right there.

i don't know why this is the first thing i thought of.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyways. Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible. (But in Donkey Kong font.)

had the privilege of watching WHISPER OF THE HEART in imax today and

it's all the little details that make a ghibli world feel lived in and alive. shelves and desks with their messy stacks of books. the dog that runs alongside you on the other side of the fence, jumping and barking. the gentle sway of people riding a train. the little flakes of wood curling and falling as a boy carves a violin. a girl writing, each stroke of her characters animated in perfect sync with her hand. the headlights of a passing car. a sunrise. all to underscore the quiet beauty of growing up and finding yourself.
