The leg goblin did get one of hers (aka neighbor’s pit bull mix) but she often slept with the other stretched straight out. She reminded me of a pill bug when she slept in this position. RIP Nova, January 2026.

You can certainly tell that cats have domesticated humans for ages and ages. Head scratches and kitten foods required.

bonus cosmos. I love the backs as much as the fronts of cosmos, especially with a strong sun showing through the petals.

Background patterns created using home-made Procreate brushes. Day 24. I am meeting some nice fellow art-posters this way!

A closeup showing the backing method. I cut a round plastic needlepoint canvas down to fit the size of the embroidery and put a layer of quilt batting in between as padding, held it together by gathering stitches pulling it tight against the backing.

#ArtAdventCalendar #DigitalCollage #DigitalArt #Procreate These are fun to make. I take a photo with an easy to isolate subject, remove the background and add new backgrounds that look like patterned fabric or fancy paper. Fun use for originals with interesting subjects but boring backgrounds.

Purple freesia flowers combined with a patterned purple background. I usually try to pick up colors from the subject or choose a color that contrasts with the subject when I create my backgrounds. Patterns come from brushes I have made in Procreate.

Purple iris with dark green leaves on a buff yellow patterned background. The pattern is derived from a Procreate brush.

Pink sprays of watsonia flowers on a purple background. Generally I make shadows behind my subjects to make them look like they were laid on top of the background.

Pale green leaves from a spirea shrub just after a rain, over a yellow to brown patterned background. I had fun changing the colors of the Procreate brush slightly as I went along.

I'm not sure I like the bland color or the mix of sharp and flowing lines, but the gems were free to anyone wishing to stitch with them. A learning experience.
