Graphic Desiger. Not an illustrator. Printmaker. Not a copy machine. Sometimes on a bicycle. Ham radio nerd. Multi-instrumentalist. Pew enthusiast. Adding and removing until my skyline is easily digestible. It's probably not you, it's usually me.
Play Minecraft, pet dogs, do laundry, practice instruments, sleep. Don't forget to hydrate.
A frog just came in my window. While I was driving. I'm 10 miles from home. WHERE DID YOU COME FROM? WHY ARE YOU SO SMOL?
When you're kinda dumb and order the hilariously oversize parts you take it a step further and order some vintage tagboard and build a boost pedal. Now I need to get some comically gigantic capacitors to replace those itty bitty little things.
Whoever designed this bullshit gas can nozzle can go to hell. Do not pass go. I have more gas on me than in the weedeater.
Someone was complaining about humidity recently. So here's your reminder that Kentucky is bUiLt DiFfErEnT. Yes, It's 99% outside, and it's 70° inside because the AC is blowing directly on it. Most of Kentucky is river valley so we got humidity to spare.
While it's been raining I built this Blackout Effectors Musket clone on an acid etched PCB. If you like the Big Muff do yourself a favor and find or build one of these.
Haven't done a Topsters post in a while. Been listening to entirely too many Cool Zone podcasts and not enough music and I intend to make more time for music. Anyway, here's 16 albums I listened to last month.
Spent last night breadboarding an updated version of a boost pedal. When I boxed it up I can either get sound and no LED, or LED with no sound. If I remove the LED it works fine. Known good PCBs, all parts tested, continuity checked. Sounds great with that metal can 2n2222a.
Made this Devi Ever Vintage Fuzz Master and it sorta works, but only if you have one switch on. Super glitchy fuzz or super octave up fuzz. Going to have to pull all the wiring and try again because I was about half cross-eyed when I finished.
Day off. 75 pounds of dog in my lap. Fan blowing on my feet.
Dramatic sleeper. Much trazadone, very oblivious to fireworks.
I'm not having a good day. My boy has been to the regular vet, emergency vet, and was headed to the cardiologist and had a stop at a different emergency vet. He's stable and headed to the cardiologist but... I need a spare good vibe before I start crying at work.
Because of who I am as a person, I've made some oversized Bazz Fuss pcbs, made some artwork and printed it on a 1590BS enclosure. Tonight I will string all this together into a functional fuzz pedal.
Remixed the mklements Mini Lab Rax 3xRPi5 shelf for use with three Pi 4 computers...because I'm behind the curve on most technology. Stay tuned for a tiny rack mount that may or may not end up being a portable 4 track recording device.
Pedal projects for the weekend. Finished up the first of four Devi Ever clones: a Torn's Peaker. Did the art and printed enclosures for a Ruiner and Vintage Fuzz Master. I have a dark boost ready to go for Monday. Now if my PCBs would get through customs that would be great.
Throwback Thursday, back when the poster groups on Facebook tried to fill the hole left in our hearts by GigPosters dot com. Scammers really didn't like being being asked about their favorite cheese.
Thanks for tuning in to my ever evolving quest to learn cool shit. Today I learned how to do hatched ground fills in KiCAD. It serves no purpose other than to look cool. I unfortunately learned this the day AFTER I placed an order for this particular board.
Because I have an obsession with building boost and fuzz pedals here's the latest batch from the weekend. Now I'm waiting on enclosures, pots, switches, art, and the time to do all that awful wiring.
I didn't show y'all first this time but I built another fuzz pedal. The Hull from Amir's Fuzz Devices. I've been sitting on this PCB for months trying to find the right LEDs. They were on Amazon, 100pk for like $8. I'm going to let out the chickens and set up my garage rig and test it out.
Hearing rerecorded versions of Dashboard Confessional songs with extra instruments is just weird. If I wanted electric guitar and drums I'd listen to the first Further Seems Forever album.
Hoodrat kids doing hoodrat shit. I do technically live on the wrong side of the tracks. School has only been out four days and they're kicking my glass door. Kids these days are just bold and know no consequences. What do I do?
