How fun! Here’s me in my 1967 in 1968. The ‘67 was the first year with bigger engine, back up lights and 12 volt battery. Before I was allowed to drive it, I had to learn to change the oil, clean the carburetor, change the spark plus and set the points and change a tire. Fun car!
I get pictures of my grandson Stewie almost daily. I will be babysitting for 2 weeks.
It’s interesting to me that I learned to work a sewing machine in 7th grade. We made an apron. Skip ahead 50 years, empty nester and I take up sewing and quilting. Now I had to learn certain techniques, but I could thread and work the machine. Teach kids things that can be used for life.
My dog Ted’s ear came up after about 8 years. I’m not sure what took it so long. Love the semaphore look.
I have a 2010 Honda Element that I will keep until they cart me off. Best car ever made for what it is. (Disclaimer; I have a Mazda CX-5 turbo for long trips).
Looks like she’s part “sight” hound to me. He was a Navajo Rez rescue. Could run with deer, they were better high jumpers. RIP buddy.
Yeah me too. Always seem to be first generation like a Trump. All of them.
Here’s a weird one to ponder. When I joined I was surprised how many cat posts there were. I have a dog. A year ago next week my dear friend died and his family was going to euthanize or dump his cats. I took them and now I love every cat post. The joy I didn’t know I needed.
That is one cute dog. My dog gets a treat for coming in the house so I don’t stand at the door repeatedly calling his name. I’m trained.
My late husband and I would head that way to ride in the winter. When it’s cool down there it’s beautiful. My girl friend climbing up the ridge with Thumb Butte in the background. The riding around there is fantastic.
Here you go. Ted the Navajo rescue that was standing on a corner in Winslow, AZ. And now he is in a bunker he dug for summer.
I have an epoxy garage floor. I think it would take a jack hammer to get this up.
Mentioning jumps this my SIL, little younger than you flying over his step-brother in Bentonville, Arkansas.
I have one too Henry. His owner passed and I inherited them, but he used to tell me he would go in the bathroom to hide from him. Not to get too Freudian but 5 of them came into rescue because their mom was killed so I don’t think he got enough teat. That’s my hypothesis and I’m sticking to it.
My Dad was a navigator on a B-17. Shot down on the first raid to Schweinfurt, Aug 17, 1943. POW at Stalag Luft 3. The crews in 1943 had a 50% casualty rate but they kept sending them deep into Germany. Those 88’s were so accurate. Here’s where he was shot down. I circled it.
I give you Henry who is a butthead. Literally, he butts me in the head. #Tuxie
Well I knew that ancestor had left Maryland & gone to Kentucky in the western migration after the Rev War. His grandson came to Florida after the CW. These are my African communities and you can see very close matches. The irony is I have thought it was my mother’s line, but it’s actually my Dad’s!
I inherited two senior cats. It’s taken me almost a year to win the complete trust of the female Moqui. That really lifts my spirits.
My Dad’s. By 1945 he was already home recovering from his wounds. He had been repatriated through Sweden. He had been at Stalag Luft 3. A navigator on a B-17. B-17’s out of England, the most dangerous job in WWII, until they got fighter escorts in late 1943. RIP Dad. Never forget.
So you assume that my Westie was locked in a hot car honking the horn? Well done heading right to the worst case scenario, you must be fun to be around. Lived to be 16.
That is so interesting. Just starting to understand how much of my DNA is rooted in Normandy. British history is fascinating on some many levels.
Thanks. Well then you will need a computerized machine with the right kind of stitches. I still like the blanket stitch for appliqué. This is one of the great parts of “quilting”. You can end up in some interesting directions. All left overs scraps from other projects. Hearts are real wool.
I’ve gone in that direction because I like the more simple, modern look. I use a Juki for my straight line stitching. Here’s an appliquéd table runner quilted with grid. Fabulous, keep it up.
Love it. We bought the first Element delivered in Orange County CA in 2003, paid a premium. We towed it over 150k miles behind our little RV mountain biking through the west. My BFF still has it. So many adventures!
