After 2+ years, we are pleased to say that the Heat Mortality Reporting bill has passed in both the Assembly and the Senate. This means that we are closer to getting the data we need for a healthier NY for all TY Senator Gustavo Rivera & @amypaulin.bsky.social for their leadership
Today, the Legislature will be voting on the Transportation, Economic Development and Environmental Conservation budget bill, the contents of which are unsettling to environmental justice advocates and communities alike. Read our full statement here: bit.ly/4tVNgvm

This March was knife's edge. The month brought warm weather days and the Spring Equinox. But it also came with harsh blows to the landmark Climate Law, including proposed cuts and mass misinformation spread by Governor Kathy Hochul. Newsletter here: conta.cc/487lGTA
Gov Hochul has been attempting to garner support around CLCPA rollbacks by making false claims about affordability. But we the people are not so naive THANK YOU to PUSH Buffalo and @cacwny.org for showing up to the Governor's pep rally and pushing back on her outrageous and harmful claims
Yesterday, over a thousand New Yorkers gathered to say: 💰Tax the rich! 🧊Get ICE out 💵Make polluters pay @governor.ny.gov, whose side are you on? Will you protect the ultra-rich or the people?
This February, we stayed grounded in the legacy of Black and Brown leadership, building public momentum around real climate solutions to best serve low-income New Yorkers of color. Read our February newsletter here: conta.cc/3OuBedt
On March 10, we're going to Albany to tell Gov. Hochul: DEFEND NY, FUND OUR FUTURE! In a time of crisis, we need bold action to protect immigrants, make polluters pay, and tax the rich! RSVP here: bit.ly/defend-ny-3-10
Repealing the Endangerment Clause weakens federal accountability and shifts the burden back onto communities that are already facing the brunt of extreme heat, flooding, asthma, and energy burdens. We will keep fighting to protect our communities and hold the EPA accountable.
Please be informed that the NYC-EJA office is closed in solidarity with the National Shutdown on Friday, January 30. NO SHOPPING, NO WORK, NO ICE
This past weekend, NYC braced itself against the most severe weather it’s experienced in eight years. While the storm itself is over, expect snow showers and ongoing extreme cold. Further information on the toll of the storm’s damage is still underway.
Climate progress we hope to see under @mayor.nyc.gov - Because quality of life is a climate issue.
