Local govts. collected $12.7B in sales tax in the first half of 2026, a 6.8% increase over last year, which continued an upward trend for the past few years. However, that level of growth may not last, and local officials should be cautious in estimating future sales tax revenue. on.ny.gov/4q7PB6h

The NYS pension fund is voting against National Grid's executive compensation plan. It uses similar performance metrics throughout the plan, meaning executives can get paid twice for hitting one target. We will continue to hold companies accountable vote by vote.

“I am encouraged by Mayor Mamdani and City Comptroller Levine’s announcement that they are seriously considering establishing clearer policies for New York City’s reserves, including defining their purpose, setting funding targets, and creating a plan to replenish reserves when they are used. As my office has noted, most large U.S. cities have adopted these types of clear guidelines. They provide greater transparency for stakeholders, confidence for investors and strengthen the fiscal preparedness of the nation’s largest city.”

NY state’s pension fund will vote against ALL Meta board directors at the company’s annual meeting for its numerous governance failures. We’re also supporting shareholders' call for Meta to tie executive compensation to child safety and how its climate commitments align with data center expansion.
