Sustainable fisheries is about protecting the entire marine ecosystem. By supporting responsible fishing practices, we help ensure healthy oceans, thriving communities, and seafood for generations to come.
⚽️ This #WorldCup weekend, we're cheering for a defense that never takes a break: #mangroves! Healthy mangroves and wetlands are nature's best defenders.
#DYK coral reefs are the most biodiverse ecosystems in our ocean? They cover less than 1% of the ocean floor, yet support nearly 25% of all marine life. Seahorses, sea turtles, sharks, and countless other species depend on these ecosystems to survive. But they depend on us to thrive.
Sharks keep our oceans healthy by maintaining balance in marine ecosystems. Belize is home to an incredible diversity of sharks, but these species face growing threats everyday. This Shark Awareness Day, dive in and learn more about sharks: bit.ly/marine_life
We'll take our Monday blues in all these shades, thanks! 💙🌊 Join us in advocating for the protection of #Belize's beautiful blues: bit.ly/43XmEAz
Spotted eagle rays can leap completely out of the water! Scientists aren't 100% sure why — could be to shake off parasites, dodge predators, or avoid unwanted mates. Some say they just do it for fun! Learn more cool facts here: https://bit.ly/marine_life

How does the flame scallop escape predators? 💭 No claws, no teeth, no venom — but flame scallops have a trick: they swim! When crabs, shrimp or sea stars close in, they clap their shells repeatedly, jetting water to dart away. No fight, just flight. 🔥🐚
