I was curious as to the outfit in question (The Siege) and then I found this line, so anywhere here I am posting.

Love this, the crafted from organic wings. The pink bows on armour straps. I am also curious if you went with the alternating red/dark-red/brown inspired by pieces like this? It's neat!

Schleich released some updated designs, I picked up a few because I like them feathered! Sadly a decade later it seems they have little feathering if at all. That’s really disappointing. They do still have the Utahraptor (blue face) at least, and a newer Dakotaraptor that is feathered up, but oof.

Oh, the "Anti-Racist" registered 501(c)(4) organization with a PAC, founded by white people, headed by white people, centering white people, that self-describes itself as, and I quote, "A Political Home for White People" decided a Strassery guy who had a Nazi tattoo, now a dog whistle, isn't racist?

It was in this context that white-antiracist organizers across the country began dreaming bigger about what was needed in white communities— among them Carla F Wallace, in Louisville, KY and Pam McMichael, then Executive Director of the Highlander Center in New Market, TN. Both McMichael and Wallace had been mentored by Anne Braden and other Civil Rights leaders from the South. They helped found the Fairness Campaign in Kentucky in the 1990’s, which worked at the intersections of race and sexuality to win civil rights legislative protections for LGBT+ people. The first coordinating team included leaders from AWARE LA, Highlander Center, and the Catalyst Project, which played a central role in SURJ’s formation.

On September 11, 2009, McMichael convened a call that included 21 white people engaged in racial justice work to discuss this question and plan action. Over time, a loose national network emerged, anchored by a working group with representatives from across the country that was intergenerational, cross class, rural/urban— and it is no accident that queer and gender-nonconforming activists were overwhelmingly part of the formation of SURJ. Some people came connected to organizations, some of which were multi-racial and some white, and some people came as individuals deeply concerned about white supremacy and the growing power of the Right in white communities.

Modern Props #195-290-1, my beloved. I need to actually build these a few times and just randomly stick them into sci-fi sets.

3D rendered Lego versions of a famous prop called the Modern Props #195-290-1, which is a pair of two short columns with gold circles on the outer side, between them is a bit of a cone and a tube that glows red.

Closer to the camera is one inspired by an early/mid aughts variant of it, which instead of red light tubes had tubes that glowed teal green (with the added option of having it trigger each smaller cold cathode tube in sequence making it look like the lights rotated).

Except in Lego they're just simple "Light Sword Blades" set to glow for the rendering.

Including the base, each set of "Thing" is 32 pieces.

That looks gorgeous! Proper EGA, proper pixel grid, no alpha blend, but then otherwise doing a fast paced 60(?)fps side scrolling action game? The I don't think I've ever seen that before! Also now on my wishlist! And the screenshot with the leaking tanker of "CGA Chemicals" got a good chuckle.
