As a boy scout and avid knot tier - that is not a valid noose. My understanding of it is that it needs 13 wraps around the main rope. More like this.

My understanding is that Lassie was played (on TV) by a male dog. Lassie was based on an Old Time Scotch Collie - what we used to call a farm dog here. A breed that is being rebuilt. Here are two of mine. Cian (Male) and Skye (Female)
