I want to be with those who know secret things or else alone. ~ Rainer Maria Rilke
All that remains are the sleeves. Easy, peasy right? RIGHT? 😳 #myfirstsweater #knitsky 🧶
An old @gnome-and-tonic.bsky.social post explained what look like petals on a hydrangea, are leaves, and the tiny round bits are the flowers. Now the color change in my plants makes sense. Like trees, as they get closer to the end of their lifespan, they change color; these from white to dark pink.
Omg! Farmer's Market SCORE! Locally grown donut peaches (IYKYK), and handspun, undyed yarn from local sheep. I feel like I found a pirate's treasure, LOL!
It's still a work in process. But I'm thrilled with how it's going so far!
Eastern tiger swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) in the garden today. These Echinacea "Magnus" purpurea are fantastic for attracting butterflies and birds. I haven't been quick enough to snap the birds.
Beautiful visitor in the #garden today. I believe it's a spicebush swallowtail #butterfly.
The yellow tint to this picture is not a filter. It's the haze of wildfire smoke from fires many-hundreds of miles away. #garden #flowers #wildfires
The neighborhood is a cacophony of chaos, with generators roaring, sirens screaming, chainsaws buzzing as we clean up the mess after the storm. This little oasis survived both the heatwave and the subsequent hail, wind and monsoon. I think every pollinator for miles has visited today. 💜🐝
These beauties stayed in tight buds through the furnace-blast heatwave. One night of rain and they all opened up, ready for harvest. Power will likely be out a few more days and the generator juice is sparce, so air-drying them instead of using a dehydrator. #herbs #flowers #calendula
Same title, same author, same content. The one on the right was published in 2013 by Llewellyn. The one on the left by Crossed Crow Books in 2026. I stupidly assumed the new one must be an updated version, but nope. 🤦♀️Oh well, another witchy book for the neighborhood little free library! #witchsky
Finally surfacing from a bad illness flare. Happy to have the energy to sit up and knit. This one was a doozy. #ShowMeYourKnits blue week. WIP: Hip to be Square Blanket by Jennifer Braico, yarn: KC Splendid Superwash Merino in Sapphire Star
The first calendula of the season is about to open! #flowers #bloomscrolling #garden
It's a good day for a nosegay. Spirea and Bee Balm. The Spirea smells wierdly vegetal, and the Bee Balm smells like minty lemons. #flowers #gardening
This Echinacea pupurea "Magnus" is huuuge. It's almost up to my shoulder, and I'm a tall gurl.
The Astilbes are putting on a lovely, floofy show. String them together and we'd have a glorious feather boa.
