It's my nephew's 21st birthday today and he's made a habit of giving me increasingly mean birthday cards over the years so today I'm getting my own back.
Right? Also here's a (rubbish) picture I took of an enormous mosaic with him in the middle of it in Cyprus years ago. Not reallt relevant but it was a petty cool place to visit.
I keep thinking about this. I mean I'm no data visualisation expert but come on, it's just this.
Don't post much personal stuff on here so here's a short video of me DJing an absolutely bangin' set on Friday, specifically playing the tune that was the first dance at my wedding, in the place I proposed to my wife, on a stage that's featured PJ Harvey, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley and Amy Winehouse.
There is no way this crowd actually damaged his car. Did not happen.
To be fair this has literally happened already in the comics.
RIP John Blanche. Warhammer is something I drifted away from after my childhood but, looking back, I can see that he was one of the artists who really got the setting, who understood a rotting corpse on a golden throne was an excellent metaphor for fascism.
Got curious and did the test answering sincerely and, let me tell you, as a profoundly non-Christian English goth from an almost entirely agnostic family, this came as a surprise.
A trans person existing near a transphobe is now against the law in some circumstances. This is repulsive and shameful, hate wins.
Yeah, theres so many clever little directorial tricks that went into making it coherent. I think steven soderbergh's verdict is my favourite.
The guy second from left was wearing a BUF uniform at their party launch. At least I'm pretty sure it's him, hes got the same check-his-hard-drive style moustache.
Your country is way too unstable to live in and it's obviously not going to sort itself out any time soon.
This was not mine, and I apologise for reposting this one here, but also I absolutely don't.
Just had a look at what the news channels had to say about the Caerphilly by election and this is a really profound difference in emphasis, isn't it.
My Venus brings all the boys to the yard, and they're like "she's got no arms"...
Also this, which is one of the very few things he actually wrote about his own politics, tells us he most certainly wasn't a far fight kind of guy. Doesn't tell us much else, of course, personally I think most of his politics boiled down to 'I like trees'.
I really want to about Zia Yusuf telling at members of the public for being biased against Reform.
I know there are more important reasons that this man is one of the most despised people alive, but genuinely one of the reasons I personally hate him so much is how gut wrenchingly abysmal his personality is. One of the most dismal wankers you could ever meet, totally lacking in savoir faire.
I would like it if the world could no longer be governed by the worst and stupidest people in it. I am tired of these dull characters, their beliefs, their proclamations.
Five years ago today Ella and I went to the centre for a Black Lives Matter demonstration and witnessed history as a bunch of people tore down a monument celebrating the slave trader Edward Colston. The statue was dragged though the streets and dumped in the same waters where his ships made harbour.
Okay but so can a computer that uses valves built 70 years ago by actually impressive tech pioneers so, like, what's your point.
Hard to overstate the radicalising effect the US administration is already having on both left and right. The social contract in the US was at breaking point before the election, it cannot hold for four more years of this poison.
Today is my beloved wife's birthday so yesterday we went for a walk up Glastonbury Tor, then went clubbing. I'm... Not as healthy as I'd hoped, because this morning my legs feel like they're close to falling off. I did see a road called 'Butt Close' and laughed way too hard though.
Totally agree. I was there when the statue of Colston was toppled in Bristol, then a couple of years later walked past this one late at night when there was nobody around, didn't notice it until I was basically next to it, and had a moment of genuine terror. It was awesome.
