Most of the work of reviewing is not simply catching bugs. A great deal of it is deciding whether this direction is a good approach, whether the PR is a good idea at all. In other words, reviewing is made of decisions.
"Shotgunning" Rs at reviewers incurs a high mental cost for them. I think most authors of LLM PRs believe that they are sincerely helping, but from our perspective, the code itself is the smallest and in some ways least important part of the change.
We
care much more about authors understanding what the code does, planning how it will change in the future, and deciding what it should look like. The code itself cannot help with any of those.

My primary concern is the risk that authoritarian governments—not solely the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), although the CCP is clearly the most capable threat—build AI models that are more powerful than those built by the US, and use them to achieve permanent military superiority or perpetrate incredibly deep repression of their own people

We have information that Moonshot Al distilled Anthropic's Fable for the development of its K3 model.
To do this they developed a sophisticated internal platform to conduct large scale distillation against U.S. models, allowing them to quickly switch between multiple methods of access to avoid detection. Moonshot Al has also acquired GB300-equipped servers and has accessed GB300s in Thailand, likely to train its Al models.
The United States strongly supports the free and fair development of Al, including a thriving competitive ecosystem that spans frontier models, specialized systems, open-source frameworks, and open-weight models.
Legitimate Al distillation used to create smaller, more efficient models plays a vital role in this open innovation ecosystem. However, large-scale, covert industrial distillation aimed at stealing proprietary U.S. technology and undermining American research is unacceptable.

Dieser "EU Expert Report" zu Social Media Age Restrictions ist auch eine reine Selbstaufgabe. Man fragt nicht mal mehr, was man denn tun kann, um Social Media für Kinder und für alle anderen sicherer zu machen.

imo this is more interesting than their minor tightening of AI use policies in contributions. AI-written issues are, in a way, more draining than slop PRs. Probably gonna adapt that for our repos.

When our maintainers volunteer their time to review your issue, PR, or proposal, they do not want to talk to a machine. This is a basic principle of respect.
Machine translations are still acceptable as long as the original content was written by a human.

You cannot set it to 0 but I'm pretty sure you can pretty much achieve that by restricting the pull requests and then add people as collaborators. My ask was more about a process to apply as collaborators (reference projects, reasons, focus, experience etc.)

Das ist irgendwie ein sehr überraschendes NEOS-Ergebnis. Vermutlich ist die NEOS Gruppe einfach zu klein bei n 800, aber sonst haben die NEOS einen massiven Disconnex hier zu ihrer Wählerschaft. www.derstandard.at/story/300000...
