If the screenshot is largely text, like your example was, there is an extra step. Simply tapping the “+ ALT” icon in the upper left corner will just give you an empty “Descriptive alt text” field.

I probably write alt text that is too wordy, so I’m not claiming to be a model alt captioner. That said, I can at least show you how to access it. See below: 1. Tap the “+ ALT” in the upper left corner. 2. Many times, that alone will automatically add an image description. 3. Tap “Save.”
