HE/HIM; TTRPG content creator and designer by night, educator by day. Currently working on Vanguard TTRPG, the Nox Engine, and various projects for Storypath Nexus community program.
Number 35; Last of the deshalved, Scion 1e was my favorite game, largely because the system was so broken that I made a lot of houserules for it. Kinda got me into designing my own TTRPG mechanics. System was terrible, but I still love it. Boxed it, though.
Number 34; So naturally, I felt I had to get Mutants & Masterminds 3e. Didn't get as many sourcebooks in print for this edition though, but their Supernatural Handbook (I think) had a good chapter on designing pantheons that I reference on the regular 👍
Number 33; Mutants & Masterminds 2e was my first real experience with a super heroes game (don't think I ever played 1e). Great addition was the essays on comics and comic history that came with the books 👍 It also had some great sourcebooks
Finished cutting out over 20 tokens for DnD tonight. They'll be battling a vampire necromancer and their potential horde of undead (incl. 1 beholder zombie) I used @czepeku.bsky.social tokens but added HP counters to the zombies for easier tracking. The chandelier is hand drawn by me 👍✏️
Number 32; Got Tidebreaker through crowdfunding. Don't have much else to say, tbh. 🤷♂️
Number 31 (yes, I'm taking these photos on my floor); I was actually looking forward to running The Strange, but didn't get the chance. Now I'm less excided but the book is pretty cool and the concept is pretty awesome.
Number 30, and moving on to the TTRPGs that are no longer on my shelf; Spire is a very cool book, both visually and thematically. Haven't had the chance to run or play it though 🤷♂️
Number 29; In Demon: the Descent, you play as fallen angels of the God-Machine. It is a hefty book and includes the updated rules in appendix that were later used in CoD 2e. It is also the last TTRPG I have for nWoD and the only one I've never had the chance to run.
Number 28; I had some great fun with Mummy: the Curse. It is also the fanciest TTRPG book I have for the nWoD (now called Chronicles of Darkness) since it has golden pages.
Number 27; Geist: the Sin-Eaters is a game about cheating death and has some interesting ideas about the Underworld that I've used for inspiration. Book of the Dead is not limited to G:tSE but expands on the Underworlds and how to handle the dead.
Technically not a standalone game or a sourcebook for H:tV, so this is an extra. Slasher is, IMO, the best how-to-make-a-villain book for nWoD. I raid this often for ideas and it inspired most of my Ripper class for 5e. Of course, that might mean I have issues 😅
Time to continue, since I recently expanded my collection and still have books left... Number 26; My 2nd fav nWoD title is Hunter: the Vigil. Still talking 1e, it had some fun character options and the struggle of the hunt was more present here 👍
"Honey, I know I was supposed to get milk from the store, but look at what I got instead..." Bad joke aside, I got a gift card for my 40th birthday and I finally got to spend it 🥳
Number 25 is still my fav nWoD titles; Changeling: the Lost was super flexible when it came to character creation and I've mentioned 2e previously. This was my longest running nWoD campaigns and one of the few I've finished. Also, brilliant cover art 🤩
Number 24; Promethean: the Created was the first unique gameline in nWoD. It focused on characters who were created, such as Frankensteins and Galateans.
Number 23; Mage: the Awakening was so close Mage: the Ascension in name that it was shortened to MtAw for clarity. Game has a flexible magic system and a fun system for paradox. I liked it but didn't run it much. Also a very cool cover.
Number 22; Werewolf: the Forsaken was a game I didn't really get to explore. I admit I prefer WtA for its setting, but WtF had some... idk, ideas? Did run it once, during my "run every nWoD games with guests" period on Twitter.
Decided to count the sub-systems separately, so... Number 21; Vampire: the Requiem was my preferred vampire game over VtM. We ran this a lot while I was studying at the university. I still mine this for vampire ideas, especially Mythologies.
At number 20; new World of Darkness! The new edition is known as Chronicle of Darkness but this was my go-to game system starting almost 20 years ago. Since then, I've favoured dice pool systems, though I don't mind straying from the d10.
Number 19; StoryPath Ultra is the system that I believe started with Scion 2e and Trinity Continuum (see earlier in 🧵). This is the core system manual, which you can use to make your own game. I think the publishing license is still pending and may be somewhat limited.
Number 18; I actually got my copy of Night Black's Agents from a friend who accidentally got a spare copy. He did run it for us, and as fun as it was it is very different from what we're used to running. Uses the Gumshoe system to hunt vampires.
Number 17; Another one I haven't played/run. I got Mistborn Adventure Game with a Kickstarter for a Mistborn boardgame a few years ago and I've barely paged through it. It is on my to-read list but I doubt I'll ever play it. I haven't played the boardgame either 😅
Number 16; I have 1st edition Monster of the Week, which is on my to-play list. I figured it would be a fun game-between-games, but am still awaiting the chance. Also, the cover is brilliant 👍
I guess I'll just continue until I run out 🤷♂️ Number 15; The End of the World: Zombie Apocalypse was an interesting idea but I never got to play/run it. I do reference it from time to time for mindless undead ideas.
Number 14; Avatar Legends is still on my to-play list. Half of my regular group wants to play it as we've seen the show, the other half is less excited as they haven't seen the show (yet!)
They Came at number 13; See what I did there? They Came From... series are created by the Onyx Path Publishing and use a version of the Storypath system, similar to Scion and Trinity Continuum. In the series I have two titles, They Came From Beneath the Sea and They Came From Beyond the Grave.
Number 12; I used to collect and play a lot of Chronicle of Darkness (back when it was nWoD) and Changeling: the Lost was my all-time favorite, so much that it is the only CoD I have in print for 2nd edition.
Number 11; Mutant: Year Zero is a game I haven't played yet but I like the system and setting to give it a try. Definitely thinking about turning my hometown into a zone to play in.
