Today's classrooms are very different. Students have more diverse learning needs, greater mental health challenges & more complex support requirements than ever before. Paul Calandra has overseen larger class sizes, fewer supports & growing pressures on schools. Ontario's students deserve better
With just 38 days until contract expiry, OSSTF/FEESO remains ready to meet and bargain whenever the government is prepared to do the same. #FinalCountdownFriday #OntEd #OSSTF
Ontario students deserve schools with enough qualified staff to meet their needs every day. That's why #OSSTF is fighting for working conditions that attract and retain education workers. When schools are properly staffed, students receive better support and schools are stronger for everyone.

As class sizes grow, students receive less individual attention, classrooms become harder to manage, and teachers have less time to support every learner. That's why #OSSTF is fighting for smaller class sizes. Better learning conditions mean better outcomes for students and Ontario communities.
In Ontario classrooms, students have diverse learning needs, greater mental health challenges & more complex support requirements than ever before. Students require smaller class sizes, increased supports & more investments in qualified edu workers & teachers. Ontario's students deserve better.

Ontario's public education system has lost $6.4 billion since 2018 while students needs have become more complex. 1000's of jobs have been lost, including skilled trades workers, edu assistants, professional student services personnel & teachers. Students deserve a fully funded public edu system.
Students shouldn't have to wait months or years to receive the assessments and supports they need to succeed. That's why #OSSTF is fighting for increased and timely access to special education assessments and the follow-up supports students deserve.

Teachers and education workers are being asked to do more with less, while professional judgment and expertise are too often ignored. If you work in a public school from pre-K to Gr. 12, take a few minutes to complete the Parachute Survey before it closes in only 2 DAYS on May 21. 🔗 bit.ly/4cy1mMM
