One surprise is that they rebranded their amaretto sour as an Italian margarita! Trying to roll with the times in their own small way.
On a rainy day, a long time ago, I sat under this tree in Lafayette Park in San Francisco watching my three year old son stomping through the puddles. I couldn’t have been happier.
Yes, the political resonance does stand out. There are a lot of great characters like Mon Motha, the socialite rebel, and Luther Rael the rebel leader with a dark soul. Also, Dedra and Syril, are unlike any couple that you will see on any other show…
The view from our porch in Oxnard a few nights ago. Picture courtesy of my lovely wife!
You can hike for miles along the beautiful coast of South Shields, England.
My son wants to live there someday. I thought he was crazy until I visited last year. It’s beautiful and I had the best Italian food ever. Go figure!
A Cali sunset a couple of days before the fire. I’ll be in Maine this July…Wahoo!
Not a spectacular vista but when you find a spectacular vegetarian restaurant with lots of gluten free options for my son with celiacs, you gotta share! Julia’s in Pacific Grove CA made a quick stop in Monterey feel like a special moment.

Thank you! We just bought our plane tickets to Bangor, ME. The Bay of Fundy Coastal Drive is a definite, so I’ll have to see how everything aligns. I would love to see the Fundy Tides and I’m sure my wife would love to see Cape Enrage. We have several prints depicting lighthouses. Here is one…
Sadly, Bidwell Mansion in Chico, CA was consumed by fire last night. Maybe arson. It’s a gut punch to a proud little city who treasured the house that was in the heart of their community. Photo borrowed from Diego Moctezuma of Action News Now.
Not exotic, but we recommend the Hyatt House in Santa Clara when in the Bay Area…on weekends. Convenient to SF, East Bay, and Santa Cruz and the weekend rates are reasonable. Also we have an adult son with Downs who loves the nearby Chipotle!
Both times that I’ve been to London I enjoyed my morning coffee while wandering through Brompton Cemetery in the Earls Court neighborhood.
