So, yesterday morning I concluded the first half of this Joan of Arc two-parter. It was excellent. The best cinematic version? Probably not! But given that it is a subject tackled by some of film's finest auteurs, it was always such a high bar. There's Renée Jeanne Falconetti and Dreyer for a start—
